This car was a complete and total lemon, the vehicle only had 70,000 miles on it when I got the car, and by the time it broke down it had barely reached 85,000 miles, 15,000 under the standard 100,000 mile lifetime of an average car. The car performed well for the first little bit after I got it, but eventually repairs had to be made to the vehicle, the final one being an unaffordable 3,500 dollar transmission.

The MK6 Jetta S is pretty basic; it has no bells and whistles, but will get you where you need to go. I previously owned a MK4 Jetta ('99) that was also the base model, but it had better design (overall and dashboard). Both models are one of the few vehicles that still have a manual transmission option (a must for me).
