Great, small and reliable.
It is super reliable and continues running with over 220,000 miles on it so far. It is a little beat up, but you can't beat a car with a solid engine and transmission. There are some other problems, but they are to be expected on a high mileage car. The interior is falling apart, and the dashboard is squeaky. There is also a hole in the exhaust which makes for a noisy ride. The shocks also need to be replaced. I have taken it over a lot of off-road terrain, however, so my experience may not be typical. The gas mileage is still acceptable at 28 mpg. The motor is very weak now though! I think anyone looking at a 100,000+ mile used vehicle should strongly consider a Volvo.

99 s70 Volvo review
It's a nice tight little car. However, it is much smaller than the 1995 850 I have.

Extremely well-built car, still running strong after 18 years!
I own a 1999 Volvo S70. It has been quite reliable over the years and only has routine maintenance issues that happen naturally over the course of 18 years. The interior is roomy and can fit a lot of equipment with the seats folded down, like a full-sized bicycle without having to remove any of the wheels. It doesn't have any fancy features, such as a sun-roof or a turbo engine, but this simplifies maintenance. The engine is about as basic as it can get, and the layout of the undercarriage is easy to follow, even as a non-car enthusiast.
