Money Pit
I like the style of this car and the interior room is very good for a mid size. Trunk space is also very good and you can fold down the back seat to add further capacity. We bought this car used and it ran very nicely for the first year. It had 110k + miles when we bought it. After the first year things went bad. First the transmission died and we ended up paying $5,000 for a used replacement and new engine mounts to replace the old, worn out ones. This was almost as much as we paid for the car when we bought it. Then, a couple months later, the power steering hoses sprung a large leak. This cost us another $500. We are so deep in the hole on this car that we have no choice but to try to get at least 3 more years out of it before we can look into replacing it. I knew going in that European cars would be expensive to fix if things went bad, I just didn't think it would be as bad as it was. If you intend on buying a used Volvo, please take the time to have the tranny checked by a pro before you make the purchase. It may save you a lot of money and headaches down the road.

Great vehicle
My vehicle is a black 2002 Volvo S80. Not only is it a very safe and reliable car, but also it gets good gas mileage and never seems to break down. The car is clearly made by engineers who know what they are doing. The only thing that I dislike about the car is the cup holder in in the front is very flimsy and breaks on most Volvo s80's.

Reliable car
I like how reliable the car is after so many years. I have had few major problems with it, given the mileage--granted, there are some new parts and a motor that were put in before I got it. It's a comfortable car and roomy. I don't like that the electrical system is a little wonky.
