Grand Blanc, Michigan
Al Serra Auto Plaza Grand Blanc
2003 Saturn 1840
The dealership was clean and everyone was friendly. I appreciated that they took the time to discuss all of the pros and cons of each vehicle, as well as various financing options. The selection and price were great, and the salesperson was knowledgeable without being pushy or too intense. I felt confident in the choice I made and all of the reasons behind it.

Flint, MI Driving Tips
The advice I would give wouldn't be much different from the advice you'd get from any other city inhabitant: make sure you keep your eyes on the road and on the cars around you, be ready to stop short at any moment, and watch for cars changing lanes. I would also advise anyone driving around M-54 to stay under the speed limit, because our police force watches out especially hard for speeders. Besides safety, the one tip that I would give would be to take the back roads! There are so many unique and wonderful places to see in Grand Blanc, you never know where you might find your next favorite spot!
Flint, MI Buying Tips
I found my car by searching on Cars.Com, but Grand Blanc is a good place to go to a dealership. It is sort of an affluent area, so car lots are on just about every corner. Most people that I know who live around here tend to go to Al Serra on Saginaw Street because they own a lot for just about every make and model car you could imagine, and their friendly salespeople are more than willing to cut you a fair deal, Every car dealer is friendly in Grand Blanc though, so wherever you go you're sure to have a pleasant experience.
Favorite driving memory
My favorite memory of driving around the Flint area was when I moved here with my partner in the summer of 2014. I loved the sights of the city from the road and taking in the local flavor of the area. The roads we took weren't very busy, so we had no problem getting to where our apartment was in a reasonable amount of time. I just remember being so excited by the situation and by the possibilities for new favorite restaurants, parks, and stores passing by us in the window.
Favorite road
Dort Highway/M-54. Dort in Grand Blanc is the road we live on now, so it gives me the feeling of coming home when I drive down it from work every day. The stretch that I travel is very wide and spacious, which means there are never any backups or traffic. There are lots of trees and open spaces, which is calming to look at while on your commute home. I also pass by some of our favorite places to go, including the Sweetwater Bar & Grill. Everything about it just feels like I'm in my natural environment. I love my commute now.

Flint, MI Driving Tips
I would suggest a drive through the neighborhoods in the Mott Park district. This is where there are beautiful old historic homes, and then make your way into Carriage Town where the oldest and most decorated homes are. This will lead you in to downtown Flint where you can grab a bite, or visit the new farmers market. From there you can take MLK, or Saginaw to the north and explore the neighborhoods that time has forgotten. If it is a nice day, once you reach Coldwater Rd go east to Bluebell Beach and take a swim, explore stepping stone falls and the giant catfish, or go to Huckleberry Railroad and enjoy the old buildings of Genesee county.
Flint, MI Buying Tips
In the City there are a number of car dealerships you can go to, pretty much any spot around town has one. There are also a ton of dealers in the suburbs of the city if you are looking for a new car. In the city there is RPM which resells cars for pretty cheap.
Favorite driving memory
My favorite memory from driving in this city is how long you can drive through all the neighborhoods in Flint. It is really interesting to see the beautiful nice house and then drive for a while and see almost a ghost town of a neighborhood. The city of Flint has beautiful boulevards that are not found in any of the towns around the area. It makes me wish all towns were built with these roads in mind as they add a lot to the charm.
Favorite road
Martin Luther King. This road leads you through downtown and the busy university section and then it takes you north into the neighborhoods. Each block has a different feeling. It is a little scary to drive on it, but that is why it is so much fun.
