This car is a great car for a small family. There is enough room to comfortably fit four adults in the seating area as well as luggage in the hatch. There is ample leg room in the front seats as well as in the back. The hatch area is large enough for groceries, suitcases, even a weed eater if you place it in there right. This car gets really good gas mileage to be a v6 and runs well on road trips. I have over 188,000 miles on this vehicle and I have had to do some maintenance, however it has a lot of mountain driving miles. This vehicle has a six disc changer in the radio. It is four-wheel drive and I have had it in some snows. It handled well and I was extremely satisfied with the automatic four wheel drive. The best part about that is if it needs it... there it is. If not... you don'... (more)
Story
My most memorable story was in the winter. I had never driven this car in the snow before. The weather people were not calling for bad weather but when I got up to go to work it had snowed a good 6 inches and was still pouring. I was the first car on the road that morning and no scrapes had been out. I got in my little car and headed down the road. It took a little extra time to reach my desti... (more)

I have a Ford Escape. I have had some issues with this car since the time I purchased it. The cable that allows the gas pedal to work has been replaced three times. I have also had to replace the inside working piece in the ignition because it also stopped working. One positive aspect of the vehicle is that the outside body has held up well. The paint looks new, and there has been no peeling or fading. Also, the car had decent gas mileage. I would also say that the interior has held up well too. I have a basset hound, and he rides in the back seat on a daily basis. The car cleans up well and is very resistant to stains.
Story
It is very roomy in the back seat, and my basset hound loves stretching out back there and enjoying the many rides he goes on.
Pros
The vehicle has good gas mileage, and the exterior has held up well. I have put over 200,000 miles on the car and have had no problems with the motor. Therefore, I would say the parts under the hood have held up well. I would give kudos to the interior of the car as well. It can be easily clean even after a lot of use.
Cons
The gas pedal has major issues and has had to be replaced three times. The can be a major safety hazard. Ford did have a recall on the clip that holds the cable to the pedal but even after the recall, the pedal has broken twice. Ford needs to do something about this issue.
