2003 Ford Focus - Ford Focus Decent For New Drivers But Not Very Reliable

This car is one that I got for just local travel. It rides nicely and smoothly, though the power steering is a bit iffy. The wheel is difficult to turn at times, but that aside, it turns nicely. The gas pedal isn't touchy, so if you have a bit of a lead foot, you don't have to worry about going TOO fast. My only real BIG issue is that the belt busted after only a year of driving it (though I bought it used and I'm not sure of the history of the car). The cruise control in mine did not work. I'm not sure how long it hadn't been working, though. And the gas gauge is unreliable. More cons than pros; I wouldn't recommend this car for anyone who travels a lot or wants to go too far from home, but for say, a teen who just got their license, it'd be a pretty good pick.
Story
We managed to shove two of our friends in the trunk on Halloween and when kids came up to trick or treat, they'd jump out for the scare effect. Most of the kids didn't fall for it, though, which was kind of disappointing.
Pros
Easy to handle Roomy front and back seat Large trunk (good for traveling)
Cons
Power Steering messes up often One serpentine belt - if it breaks, your entire car starts acting up Cruise control iffy at best Leather seats Seat adjustment isn't manual Battery gave out Gas gauge issues (seem to be a common thing in these models)

2014 Ford Focus - Decent vehicle for daily travel and trips

The overall value of the car is exactly what you would expect from a vehicle of its style and reputation. With 18,000 miles, it has required no extra, costly upkeep outside of the regularly-scheduled maintenance. Its fuel economy is exceptional for both city and country travel, and it is reliable for the infrequent long-distance vacation and even a frequent, demanding commute. The car is very comfortable for a driver and passenger, but the space is rather limited in the backseat. A twin-sized mattress can fit perfectly between the trunk and the backseat, but anything larger would be tough to fit!
Story
I did need to transport a number of plants between home and work, and the drive was smooth enough that not a piece of soil was spilled!
Pros
The heating and cooling systems are top-notch, and the simple luxuries, like heated seats, are welcome and dependable. The vehicle is also very stylish, and continues to look new and fashionable even years after purchase.
Cons
The hill-start assist has stopped working on the vehicle, and this seems to be a common problem expressed among the owners of this vehicle. It is occasionally inconvenient, but it does not greatly deter from the everyday driving experience. I would perhaps not recommend the vehicle to those living in particularly mountainous areas, but plains and coasts are great!
