Mixed Emotions
I love to drive my Volkswagen Jetta. It has a nice "punch" to the driving-- it accelerates quickly, takes turns well, and has responsive brakes. I find other similar cars to not be as much fun to drive. I have owned my Volkswagen Jetta for about 10 years now and found it to be an enjoyable car to drive while I'm young and am mostly driving by myself. However, my Jetta has a lot of "quirky" problems that make me feel like it is unreliable. For example, the sunroof opens and closes randomly while I am driving it. The driver's side window stopped working. My locks have stopped working (they will lock but not unlock easily) and so I have not locked my car in about 6 months. A big metal piece (oil pan skid plate?) Straight up fell off of my car about 6 months ago. I have also had a lot of bigger maintenance issues such as replacing the engine coils. A few weeks ago my car would not start and I took it to the Volkswagen dealership (towed it there) and it worked fine for them and they were not able to determine what was wrong with it. I also need a new axle and there's a slight leak in my transmission. Overall, I would say that I have enjoyed owning and driving my Jetta but in the future will buy a more reliable car especially as I think about having a family.

Jetta- a stalwart German lady
I call my Jetta "Bertha". She's a pretty reliable stalwart, a little heavy and doesn't handle as well as I'd like in terms of acceleration, but she's a solid car. I've had some electrical problems with the car that required numerous fixes (cruise control module shorted out, check engine lights coming on and off), but she has also withstood many road trips and 12 years of driving in two different states. I will also say that she has held up well to the transition from student to mom, with good rear seat space for kids and dogs. Compared to other cars I've used at a similar price point, I feel like it handles better at speed though it takes a while to get up to the top speed. I think the styling has also aged well.

Excellent customer service when taking the car in for warranty related repairs. Low pressure salesmen. Sales workers were eager to let me test drive several types of cars. I was given a loaner car with no hassle when I had recall work that needed to be performed. Excellent stock of cars on site.
