I love the leather trim in this vehicle. It gives the benefit of a luxury car, but for a fraction of the cost. I appreciate the smooth drive and the additional benefits, like all wheel drive and the ford sync system.
Story
I love driving this on trips with the family -- it's great for road trips and short vacations.
Pros
Looks nice, professional, roomy
Cons
I wish it had the rear cam built in

The Ford Escape is an excellent family SUV, it is big enough to fit 5 people plus has adequate storage in the back. We are able to comfortably fit 2 adults, a teenager and 2 car seats in the car. It is still small enough to handle well and not be too bulky when parking or driving. The quality is above average for a car in this class.
Pros
It drives very smooth.. I like that we were able to drive it on vacation in the mountains with a topper and it still felt very in control. I also like that it does not require a gas cap and it is just built in. It gets good gas mileage for an SUV. It gets through the ice and snow very well and does not lose its grip or slide. I think the 2012 Escape is visually appealing (whereas the newer models have gone to a more boxy, station wagon look). It has good enough power for my day to day driving.
Cons
The controls are not as user friendly as some of the vehicles I have had in the past and I think they could be updated. I think the cost is a bit high and that more things that are considered upgrades should probably come standard. The dome lights are also positioned to the back of the driver, more over the back row which is awkward if you need light and are driving alone. It is also very easy to accidentally engage the park break while entering and exiting the vehicle. This is not a major concern but does make for a frequent minor inconvenience.
