I have the Ranger extended cab short-bed, and it's great for moving things around, going camping, picking up lawn and garden supplies, and it can carry two passengers comfortably or four less comfortably. It gets surprisingly good gas mileage and is very reliable. I've even driven it on trips of over a thousand miles several times with no mechanical problems.
Story
I was driving a friend around town when we saw a sidewalk sale with a beautiful but huge bookcase at a good price. Because I had the pickup, we were able to get it and take it away right then.
Pros
The extended cab is much roomier than I would have thought and has a fourth door, not just a third. The gas mileage is great on the highway and above average around town. It looks good and is small enough to park in small places while still having a bed big enough to move a large couch.
Cons
There have been a number of electrical issues, including the windows frequently getting stuck up or down despite numerous repairs. The seats don't adjust well, so people of unusual height or weight might be uncomfortable.
