This explorer came with all wheel drive and a 4.6 liter V8 engine. By having this option I'm both able to get better gas mileage and I can go without worrying about getting stuck on the dirt roads I frequent. The amount of space I have in the back is more than adequate for any outdoor person. The only issue I have with the car is that it tends to have a poor A/C system and I'm not even sure the heat works since I live in the heat and wet.

This is my second Ford Explorer which I purchased used. And it is not the flashiest of cars, but it has a strong engine and transmission still goes strong. Mechanically I have very little problems other than a slow leak for which I compensate by adding oil about once a week and an annoying metal rattling noise. What I don't like is it's kind of difficult for a petite woman to get up into the darn thing. The body is still in pretty good condition with minimal rust on the edges of the tire cavity. The leather seats have wear and tear, especially the driver's side.
