2005 Ford Focus -
I love the body style of the '05 model. The seats are comfortable, and the car is sturdy. There is a decent wheel design to control the multiple functions of the upper compartment.
Story
I purchased it cash from a dealership for less than the asking price. That was fun.
Pros
My favorite feature of the car is the automatic lock when the car stars to drive. This is a great safety feature for larger cities. I also like the soft release of the trunk unlock.
Cons
I do not like that I can not unlock my car from any door on the car. It is especially difficult to load groceries into the front passenger seat, for convenience. I don't like that the radio surface bubbles, and the center arm rest is easily thrown off setting.
1997 Ford Focus - Good quality, lasting value.
We have driven this car over 300,000 miles. No other car I have owned ever lasted this long. The quality is exceptional. The car has had no major structural or engine problems and has far exceeded its expected life span. The clutch has given out twice over the cars life and had to be replaced, but this is the only part we have had to do any major repairs on. It's not a sports car and isn't for racing, but it is reliable and will get you where you need to go. It has excellent fuel economy, getting over 25 miles to a gallon at its peak of performance. My only complaint is that the interior is small, and when you sit in the passenger seat, your leg is always brushing against the stick shift. Overall, a great value for the price, and we would definitely buy one again.
Story
We took the car into the Shenandoah Mountains during the fall when the leaves had turned different shades of orange and gold. We stopped in the park and had lunch under the trees.
Pros
The fuel mileage and reliability are the best features of this car. It makes for a great car to commute or travel in.
Cons
The interior is smaller than I would like. It feels cramped, and there isn't much space to store luggage or other items.
