The Ford Ranger is an excellent truck. I have put over 230,000 miles on it and it's still running strong. There are no rattles and it is as solid as it was back when it was new. I have had no issues with anything on the truck. As long as you complete the scheduled maintenance and checkups the Ford Ranger will last you a long time. The interior is definitely dated as this truck is almost 20 years old. I have upgraded the stereo so I can play music off of my phone and I had to replace the speakers in the door of the truck as they blew out a few years back. Other than that, this has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned and I would highly recommend it to anyone. The fuel economy is not up to par with newer vehicles and you will receive lower performance if you are not keeping... (more)
Story
When I bought my motorcycle out of state, I hauled it home with this truck!
Pros
The pros to this vehicle are hauling capacity, the bed of the truck, the reliability of the truck (230,000+ miles and still going), and the resale value.
Cons
The cons to this truck are its poor fuel economy and it is getting pretty old. You'd be better off with a newer vehicle!

This was my first vehicle and it was very dependable. I liked that even though it had a small cab, there were 2 seats in the back of the cab that could fit me driving, and 3 other people in it. The quality of the truck was it got good gas mileage and had dual exhaust which I really liked. It performed very well indeed, There was a bad flood shortly after I bought this truck, and I took it through 4 feet of water, only because I had no choice but the truck made it through without any 4 wheel drive and didn't mess up or have any issues afterwards!
Story
A fun memorable story I had was taking it through about 4 feet of water. It was exhilarating being able to barely reach outside my window and touch water. The truck made it through it just fine!!
Pros
I really loved this truck for its dual exhaust among other things. It was so loud that I would be heard coming down the street, my friends would know it was me. I personally like loud trucks! And although it had a small cab, I could fit a total of 5 people if NEED be, with 3 in the front and 2 in the back of the cab.
Cons
The only cons I could come up with would be, the truck wasn't 4 wheel drive. Also, the truck didn't have cruise control enabled, therefore, I did have to manually keep my speed at what the speed limit was, in order to not get pulled over. A minor con is the engine is a V6 instead of a more powerful V8 but this is common for Ford Rangers.

The salesman worked with our family ALL day, despite it being a busy day at the dealership. We almost bought a different car, but after finding out the final purchase price and what the monthly payment would be for the original car we were considering, we switched over to considering a different vehicle, which we ended up buying. Our last minute change of mind after a long day of help did not frustrate the salesman, and I would highly recommend working with this understanding, patient man again.

My salesman was friendly and was not overly pressuring like many car salesmen are. He told us he was new to the dealership, and I have since learned he no longer works there. He was exactly the kind of car salesman I would want, but I can see how him not being overly pushy would not help him in an environment where that is expected of you.
