The Ranger I have is black. The paint on it is still like new and shiny despite being stored outside on a driveway all these years. The dash is cracked from the sun and was the first thing to have an issue after five years of being on the road. The headliner sagged and was taken out after seven years of service. The interior was always inferior looking / cheaply made.
Story
I taught my son to drive stick in this truck. I made him back up hills, back around the the skate rink when it was closed, basicly I made him back up and around everything probably 50 miles in reverse all together. He asked me why I always make him back up so much and I told him any fool can drive forwards and besides the clutch is trickier going in reverse and up a steep hill. After he master... (more)
Pros
I like the styling of the truck outside. It gets pretty good gas mileage at 22 MPG. Also, it has good ground clearance for a small truck.
Cons
The cons are the cab is tiny. I am a big man and the steering wheel rubs against me. The door is so thin that when I drive it with the window down and my arm resting in the open window it hurts after twenty minutes or so. My "gas leg" right leg is against the shifter at all times because the truck is not only small in height and length, it is also not wide. The brain box computer is on the bottom of the motor where mud, rain, and road salt play havoc on it. Have had to replace it four times. The transmission is a four speed which is very under geared; top speed down hill with a tailwind i... (more)

2000 Ford Ranger - This was the best vehicle I have had, It never gave me any problems and it was small enough to handle like a car but still have the benefits of a truck

I bought the vehicle because I liked being able to haul things when I needed to, I was always see something at a yard sale I wanted and with this truck I could get it, I also did a lot of lawn work and it was great for hauling all of those supplies. Being a female I liked that it was small enough to handle like a car as well. I never had any mechanical issues with the vehicle either, It was a standard shift and that was great on fuel. My model had the fold down seats in the back for extra passengers, Until the kids got to tall for it was so easy for them to ride in the back. The only thing I did not like about the truck might have been that the fold down area was so small, but all in all I really had no complaints with it. I hate that I had to trade it when the kids needed more space.... (more)
Story
I guess going to the lake with all the kids, I could load up the cooler, swimming equipment, picnic baskets and all the other necessities for a great day in the sun, Not to mention the many trips to the football fielding hauling all their equipment,
Pros
Favorites were the hauling capacity, the handling, the standard, shift. It was just a great vehicle over all and perfect the female that needs the added feature of space to "bring home lots of stuff"
Cons
I really don't have any, except that the kids outgrew the fold down seats.
