1999 Honda Accord - Just Another White Honda

Where do I begin? I was such a fantastic car. From the moment you get behind the wheel and depress the accelerator for the first time you can feel the quality. A solid reputation is why I bought the car but a solid, safe, fun and classy ride is why I fell in love with it. A silent, six cylinder engines purrs along while you relax into the premium leather and enjoy the experience. The only problem I had was that mine was white- EVERYONE had a White 1999 Honda Accord. That being said, I think if my biggest complaint about a car is that everyone else has one just like it... They are doing something right and I will gladly take "Just Another White Honda."
Story
I found out that the locks are virtually impossible to jimmy. A cop couldn't even get in it!
Pros
Absolute reliability! I never had to wonder if it was going to crank. Hot weather, cold weather, ice, sleet, snow, rain, dust; you name it, that car would run and do it well. Also safety is a big thing for me. My Accord was made so well! I am thankful that I never had a wreck in it but I know that if I had, it would have protected me just as well or better than anything else on the market.
Cons
One time I did lock my keys in the car... No locksmith for miles. It took 3 grown men, some heavy objects, two hours, a whole lot of muscle, and some creativity to finally break my passenger side window but even then it broke into a sheet of small pieces- not shards that could have hurt anyone. So safety is still a prominent feature. Also this was the same time I found out that the locks are virtually impossible to jimmy. A cop couldn't even get in it! I guess that's a pro not a con!

2014 Honda Accord - It's not my 2000 Accord but it's a nice car

First, I was pleasantly surprised with the gas mileage that I got right off; 38 MPG for a car this size is amazing. With conservative speeds (60MPH) on level ground it can get as high as 42MPG; amazing. The performance of this 4 cylinder is completely adequate, esp. For my driving needs. I was a bit concerned about the CV transmission as we had had some unpleasant experiences with earlier funky transmission schemes. This seems to be just fine, however. The overall quality is what one would expect from Honda; tight body (live on a ridiculously bad road) yet no rattles after 10K miles. The design is comfortable, good attention to detail. Feels and looks like a more expensive car.
Story
Everyone says "you traded the green one for a white one."
Pros
Nice interior... Like the constant MPG displays, good sound system, like the back up camera. It must be very safe as the insurance on the car went up very little from my 2000 model.
Cons
I think they have overdone some of the "gee whiz" electronic gizmos. I don't need all the music/Bluetooth/phone stuff but had to pay for it anyway. And how many different ways do I need to have the same info displayed? Also, after owning the car for a short while I found it "seemed" much bigger than my 2000; I can't get a good feel for "where I am" when I try to park it! I have to get out and look to see if I'm over the parking line or too far back from the curb... I need a forward facing camera, too, I guess! One big irritating thing: in damp weather the car will lock as soon as I close... (more)

1995 Honda Accord - Old, but still good

If you buy one of these old Honda Accords, then you will have to do maintenance on it, but doing it yourself isn't nearly as difficult as the newer cars with computers built in. Most issues you would come up with can be solved fairly easily. It also has good gas mileage (19-25 MPG city, 25-31 MPG highway), which is a must in these times of fluctuating gas prices. It doesn't have any of the new toys and gadgets, but it should be fairly simple to at least update the radio with something newer. It does have some issues with leaking through the cracks of the windshield when it rains, and the car alarm has some issues with going off occasionally when trying to disarm it.
Story
I do a lot of driving around with this car, but one day, it wouldn't start. We had our friend look at it, and she said, "just hit this with a hammer lightly and it will start". I didn't have the issue for a few months, but when it happened again, I took my friend's advice and it immediately started up.
Pros
I liked that the car handles extremely well and has no issues with steering locking up like the '98 Pontiac Grand Prix I had before this one. The amount of things one can fix under the hood is increased due to the fact that it comes from before the era of computerized parts under the hood.
Cons
This is an old car, and it's prone to leaking on the dashboard when it rains because the windshield seal isn't as strong. Also, there isn't a way to upgrade the car with a GPS or anything else that is standard in the more recent cars. This may be a big deal to some, so I'm placing it in the con list. The car alarm is a little tricky, as the remote doesn't always say it's armed or disarmed and occasionally will go off when you try to disarm it (though it's only happened to me once).
