2002 Honda Civic - The garbage dream
The build quality of the car is poor. It has had to have the engine replaced twice. Good gas mileage, comfortable, and runs pretty well other than breaking down completely a couple of times. The trunk size is large enough to fit whatever I need, and since I'm just a single lonely guy, it fits everything I need. The car had around 100,000 miles on it when I had bought it, but it's gotten me to school and home no problem. The car however doesn't have a lot of head room. Performance wise the car has had its ups and downs too. I guess, because sometimes the cars alternator will just disconnect and the car wont get any power, but I just restart the car when that happens. The car was pretty garbage when we bought it, but it's still running like a dream, so that's why it's the garbage machine... (more)
Story
I went up to the lake when the dam was overflowing, and the alternator stopped running. We all were freaking out about what to do, but it was easy to solve, and it's just a funny memory.
Pros
Good gas mileage, reliable, cheap, low maintenance, efficient at getting from point A to point B safely.
Cons
Some of the cons were, cramped, sometimes the engine messed up, and ugly looking.
2019 Honda Civic - Love my Civic. Wouldn't change anything.
Overall, I absolutely love my 2019 Honda Civic. It's gorgeous. It's a fantastic drive. And its on-board technology has made life much easier (and safer!). My MPG is routinely about 38, and has reached as high as 44 on a slightly downhill freeway! The body of the car is simply gorgeous. We call her our 'sexy butt' car because the rear view is particularly nice. It looks and feels like a sporty car, that in reality is a utilitarian family vehicle.
Story
I've received complements on this car in many parking lots. Men ask me "What is it, a V6? V8?" and I'm like "Its a Honda Civic" and they're always shocked that its such a basic model.
Pros
I adore the technological features of this car. It has built-in Android Auto and Apple Car Play. This has massively streamlined my GPS usage and music playing in the car. Simply plug the phone into the right USB outlet (with a data cable, not just a charge cable) and the onboard display effectively mirrors the phone screen.
Cons
It's a little too tight to get my rear-facing toddlers in the back doors into their car seats. Thankfully, they're now big enough to climb in and I just lean over to buckle them up. But any time someone attempts to lift them into their car seats, little toddler heads hit the door frame. The center console configuration is also a little weird because they give you three cup holders, but you can only ever use two at a time because of a little sliding change tray. Most people are using far less cash than before. I'd prefer a usable cup holder to a coin tray any day!

I worked through USAA's online buying service when I purchased my car. This was the only one available in the area.

We know someone working at this dealership, so he was frank and honest with us and made the buying process as painless as possible.
