My husband and I wanted a small SUV in order to haul things from Ikea, the store, go camping with, etc. etc. without paying a ton for a full-sized SUV or paying a lot for gas. The CR-V was a good fit for us. It can haul a lot (like a full day of shopping at Ikea or Costco), but it's still small enough to fit in parking spaces, easy to drive around in, etc.
Story
My husband and I have always had to pay extra for Ikea delivery, but with our new CRV, we didn't have to for the first-time ever. Lots of things fit: two bedside tables, a coffee table, and a huge dresser.
Pros
I like that it has a big cargo area, but it's not huge or a drain on gas (currently I drive on the highway to work and around town, and I get 24 mpg). I got a leather interior and a leather steering wheel cover which is really nice. The backup camera is great and makes me feel safer. The blue color I got is pretty. Plus it is a Honda which means to me that it will last a long time.
Cons
I'm not a huge fan of the computer system. The GPS is really hard to navigate as well as navigating through the different audio options. I've been in cars where the systems are a lot more intuitive to use than Honda's. The front seat area is also a little cramped, especially compared to my Honda Accord. It kind of feels like they devoted so much room to the cargo area and back seat that they had to crunch the front a little.

2006 Honda CR-V - I do not like this car.

My 2006 Honda was a hand-me-down from my father. Hard to turn away a free car, but it's not been great for us. You'd think it would get really good gas mileage, but it really doesn't. It's very low end. The seats are not comfortable, visibility is awful, the center console is awful, there basically is a tray with no room to put even a pen because anything you put on the tray just rolls off. The car is not spacious. Too small for car seats, too small for teenagers. This car has no "get up and go." If there's a crazy guy behind you who wants you to make a right on red by flying out into oncoming traffic - forget about it. The car just kind of putters along.
Story
I put jingle bells in the glove compartment and the kids liked singing Christmas carols with them in the middle of summer.
Pros
It has some sort of camping table in the back. It has lasted for a long time and doesn't break down much.
Cons
Too small. No "get up and go." Crappy amenities. Horrible color. Very poor visibility. The frame of the car blocks me some seeing cars next to me if I am trying to change lanes.

Our car salesman was amazing, not pushy at all, very up front and truthful. Had answers for our questions and went above and beyond to get us the vehicle. Even helped us drive one vehicle home since he ended up living fairly close to us!
