2006 Honda Pilot - Love my Honda Pilot

West Long Branch, New Jersey
Overall

I love my Honda Pilot. First of all, I bought it because I was nervous driving my first born around in my Accord. Yes, I'm that mother! But what the Pilot offers is more than I ever expected! First of all, the interior has taken a major beating in the 10 years (and three kids) that I have had it. The seats have held up wonderfully, and there are no cracks. My carpeting is stained a bit, but I rarely shampoo it. The driving is more car-like than truck-like. And if you take long road trips, you will greatly appreciate this comfort. It also has three rows (rear row is also split seat) which is great because I have three kids. I also still have a trunk when the full rear seat is up. Another thing great for trips! Keep the kids separated! At one point in time, I even had three car seats acr... (more)
Story
Last summer my family went on vacation to the Outer Banks in NC. We took my Pilot out on the beach for miles and drove around the northernmost banks. We followed several herds of wild horses, which was really cool! This is a memory my kids will cherish for a long time.
Pros
Top positive things about my vehicle is the comfort level of the "ride" along with the amount of space for my family. I also have a 6CD changer which is pretty awesome!
Cons
There really aren't many negative things about my Pilot. Of course the gas mileage could be better, as it could be with any truck/SUV. I also wish it didn't have a timing belt, as newer cars do not. This is an expensive but necessary service.

2011 Honda Pilot - Very Functional

Montebello, New York

My Pilot is extremely functional. It is a perfect family car for everyone in my family, as well as a perfect work vehicle. It has room to fit plenty of people, but all the seats can be folded down to provide as much space as my old work truck. Despite having all of this space, it doesn't look like a tank on the outside, which is a problem I have with most large SUVs. Living in New York, it is also great in the winter. The four wheel drive powers right through the snow and ice without any problems.
Story
I was actually able to move someone into a dorm room using just the space in this car while most families need two cars.
Pros
In addition to what I mentioned in the review above, this car is also pretty fuel efficient. I get a solid 25+ miles per gallon (highway) on most fill ups. The eco button is also a nice touch in this department. The car's interior isn't anything amazing, but it is very easy to maintain. It handles very well and has a enough power for any terrain.
Cons
I have very few problems with this vehicle. My biggest complaint would be the same complaint I have about all Honda's: the body is very flimsy. While the top of my car is too tall for me to see (which is why this isn't a bigger complaint of mine) when I am able to see it I often find a few new dents just from droppings from trees. Even a small branch can dent this car if it hits at the correct angle.

2011 Honda Pilot - Great Family Car

Longmont, Colorado

The thing that originally drew me to the Honda Pilot was the design of the body. It looks like a large SUV without looking like a box. The next thing that drew me to it was how smoothly it drove. My only concern was the gas mileage it may get for being such a large vehicle.
Story
On our way to Houston, Texas last year we got stuck in a flood. We had to stay parked on the Highway for 4 hours. Our Pilot was large enough that we remained comfortable and were even able to play a card game while we waited for the road to be cleared.
Pros
I love the Honda Pilot is the Eco Assist. This feature saves a lot on gas. Another great feature is that it is 4x4. 4 wheel drive is a needed feature for the snowy months in Colorado. My favorite feature, though, is the fact that it is a family car. With our first baby on the way we wanted a great car. The Honda Pilot has built in seatbelts for car seats. Also there are 3 rows of seating. We can fit eight people in this car comfortably.
Cons
I love that this car is a 4x4, but the downside is that it can only be put in 4x4 when it is in 3rd gear or reverse. It is more made for if you get stuck, not for everyday snow driving. Since this vehicle is so large, it has some blind spots which are difficult to get used to. The only other thing I wish I had in this car is Bluetooth for hands free use. This is something that I may add in the future.
