Very friendly and patient. Worked with my less than perfect credit to ensure that I was able to find a good reliable vehicle for my family. Showed me several different options in my price range and allowed me to test drive them all. I had called ahead so they already had several cars ready for me to look at that fit my needs.

Huntsville, AL Driving Tips
The best tip I can give other drivers is stay on the main road and you will probably find what you are looking for! This city is still developing at a rapid rate so chances are whatever you need is on this road! It looks confusing when you first get here but after a little while you find that it is very easy to navigate this city. You can access so many things just from the main road. The military base, NASA, downtown, and much more can all be accessed through the main road. There are also a number of family friendly places that you must visit. We also, in my opinion, have the best schools in Alabama! The colleges were the main reason we moved here and we were not disappointed. My husband recently graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville! The public school system here is the best in Alabama! This is a small city that is growing fast but the roads here are not jammed like in other cities. It is just a good friendly city to drive around in your car and sight see! We also have an awesome police department to help keep things extra safe, so no monkey business!
Huntsville, AL Buying Tips
The thing I wish someone had told me was how many mountains are in this area. Huntsville has many hills and mountains! You have to have a good car or truck to navigate some areas. We recently upgraded from a minivan to a mid size SUV. We can go many places now that we were not able to before! This city has many different car professionals and most are located on the main road. It can get overwhelming if you are new to buying a car. My best advice is ask someone what they recommend. The people here are so helpful and most have been living here all their lives so they have great information to share. Most will tell you to pick from the many dealers that have businesses up and down University Dr. We visited many of them during the time we were looking for a vehicle. There is also a website called Alabama.com where you can choose your city and pick from many local businesses! Also, located downtown is a help center for new arrivals and visitors that is packed with information on this city! I still visit to find out what is fun to do here! With all the resources here you are sure to find something that is appropriate for you and your family!
Favorite driving memory
My favorite memory would have to be one of our weekly family drives! Me, my husband, and our six children pile into the car with no particular destination and drive! One particular trip I will always remember is the drive we took after the barrage of tornadoes hit our area in 2011. We drove past all the devastation in the area in complete silence. The country side in our area is very beautiful, so to see it in such a state was very hard. Normally our trips are very fun and laid back, but that day was different. We took pictures and talked to several people. Even with all the mess around us, the people were friendly and the other drivers on the road were patient. We still enjoyed the ride but it was a different kind of enjoyment. We felt the sense of belonging to a community of people who cared about their city. The drive lasted a couple of hours and we had great photos and videos of the whole experience. I posted the pictures on my social media page and also on my personal blog. The amount of comments I got were outrageous! We love this city and love exploring it and sharing it with others! It was one of our best trips as a family.
Favorite road
University Dr.. This road is the main road in our city. You can find almost everything on this road! You have access to a lot of schools. Also there are a number of places to eat from fast food to fine dining! We have been here six years and we still discover places to visit. My workplace is also on this road. I love meeting people who are passing through or visiting. I have heard nothing but positive comments about how easy the road is to travel. This road is also special because it is the road that leads to other major roads. It is always kept safe and clean for driving. It is the safest road in Huntsville with little to no accidents reported. Another reason I like this road so much is because it is good for walking. It has plenty of sidewalk ares just for that! That is something that is important to my family because we love to take family walks. We love driving down this road during holidays to look at all the pretty decorations! It is actually the best time of the year because all the local businesses participate and the results are awesome! All of the major banks and stores are on this road, so it is easy to find what you need. We have a saying at my job when giving directions to people, "just drive down University, you will find it!"

Huntsville, AL Driving Tips
I would tell other drivers to get a great gas mileage car to minimize fuel costs in traffic and commute times. Most Huntsville homes are outside of the city so you will have to commute. Some people even live in the surrounding cities such as Decatur or Athens to commute into the city. I would also tell them to get some good tires for rain especially and the occasional ice and snow come winter time. Most Alabamians aren't well-equipped for the ice that winter brings so having good tires is important.
Huntsville, AL Buying Tips
You definitely have to have a car in this city. There is no good or reliable public transportation system and probably won't be one anytime soon. Alabama doesn't have much public transportation. There is a great dealership in Decatur, very near to Huntsville. It is Landers McClarty Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep. There are some great cars and salesman that work there that will not screw you over. They can put you in a great car for a great price. There is also a CarMax in Huntsville which has an awesome selection there. Finding a good and reliable car is great but also finding one with great gas mileage is very important.

I love driving down University in Huntsville because it's such a long stretch that has so much hustle and bustle around it. You can find restaurants, shopping, churches, recreational activities and so much more on this long stretch. You can also see the University of Alabama at Huntsville on this stretch. Huntsville is unlike other big Alabama cities such as Birmingham or Montgomery in that there is most definitely traffic, especially in rush hour or around school times, but it is a well thought out traffic area unlike Birmingham's mass chaos. I would drive down University in high school with my best friend and we would love to get stuck in traffic and wave at people in other cars and then we would drive around all night trying to decide what yummy restaurant we wanted to eat at that night or if we wanted to go bowling, or see a movie. Huntsville is a great area and you will never lack to find something fun and exciting to do. Like any big and fast-growing city, there will be traffic but there's nothing to stress over.
Favorite road
Holmes Ave. My favorite road to drive in Huntsville is driving around in the historical Old Homes District. My great grandfather lived in a historic home on Holmes Ave and I would love to drive around there and look at the beautiful homes in the renaissance and Greek revival styles. There was never much traffic and it was easy-going. It's kind of like driving back in time and it's interesting to imagine what life was like back in the time when those homes were in their grandiose splendor. The homes are magical and look like they have been well-maintained. Some could use a little work but to me it just adds charm.
