The S-Type Jaguar is a sleek, beautiful vehicle. The ride is smooth and airy. If you hit the Sport Mode button on the dash and step on it, you'll think you're on the track at Indy. It has a very powerful feel to it. The interior is luxurious with soft, supple leather seats and burled walnut and leather dash. I Love it.
Story
We had just bought the Jag and went to Florida for our yearly vacation. Our ten yr. old daughter was oohing and aahing in the back seat. We thought she was impressed about all the stuff going on in Orlando. We asked her what she was so impressed about and she said, "I just love this car so much, I feel like I'm riding in a Limo." She made her daddy promise to paint it pink and give it to her f... (more)
Pros
The exterior of the car has sleek, classical lines. It just looks beautiful. The jaguar on the hood and the classic grill give it an elegant appearance. The interior is comfortable and roomy. The back seat can accommodate a mid sized adult. It has memory seats with two settings, so we don't have to adjust it every time we switch drivers. There is plenty of room for the kids to have their own space when we go on a trip. The gas mileage is pretty good, (if you keep your finger away from the Sport button), at over 30 MPG.
Cons
The leather on the dash cracked. You really need to use a sun shield, (the 1st owner probably didn't). We had to change the lug nuts to one piece replacements. The originals are two part and if your not very careful they will strip out. Mechanics are hard to come by if you live in a rural area. Even things that would seem simple, like wheel bearings, seem to scare off your average domestic mechanic.

The car performs well--it jumps to life at the touch of the pedal, and it responds quickly in most scenarios. Still, one pays the price--with money--for such performance. Anyone who has owned a Jaguar knows the dent it makes--and continues to make--in your wallet.
Story
I was zipping along the freeway, and my friend mooned a van next to us. Unfortunately, it was a news van, and they were recording a "record low" traffic. It was a live broadcast, and I had quite a few curious emails that day asking me whose rear-end that was in my front passenger seat.
Pros
The S-Type's responsiveness, fuel economy, and overall performance make this a very attractive driver. The looks are also gorgeous--the burled wood interior, the small, old-fashioned grille, and the streamlined body are all to die for. It is also extremely comfortable, with high-quality upholstery.
Cons
Unfortunately, the car costs quite a lot of money; aside from the intimidating price tag, the maintenance at any mechanic will cost in the neighborhood of a month's rent. The gasoline that the engine has been calibrated for is "Premium," with a premium cost. Reliability with the brand (Jaguar) is also not top-notch.
