This car was bought under pressure due to the loss of the previous car. I had never owned a Jeep before but was aware they get a somewhat bad rap sometimes due to their affiliation to Chrysler. This car has proved that wrong and made a Jeep lover out of me. I have owned this car for 8 years and only had one major issue with it. Other than regular maintenance and some TLC this car has taken everything I have thrown at it and chewed it up and spit it out. It takes the highway no problem with 17-18 mpg and can transition to the trail without any issue (and that is with the i6 motor and RWD).
Title
In the recent Houston floods we ended up getting blocked from going home due to rising waters. My wife drives a smaller car so we parked hers on some high ground and moved her and my son and our gear over to the Jeep. With the Jeep being significantly higher we were able to get through the high water (my son thought it was a blast watching the water splash over everything) and get to a family ... (more)
Pros
The maintenance is easy and the motor is solid. The ride on the trail is very easy and doesn't seem like I am rattling all of the bolts loose on the car. It's a good, solid response and I never feel like I am out of control.
Cons
The ride quality on the highway is a bit rough. I don't mind but my wife does. This is likely fixable with a different set of shocks but is honestly the only thing I can think I dislike about the car.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a very good truck. I'm the second owner of this truck, and it has been a very reliable car. It's roomy with enough room to hold a growing family of five, and the truck is large enough to haul large items to move around. The gas mileage is good compared to other SUV's and after nine years, it's still a stylish car.
Title
It was rodeo season in Houston, TX and I had seven teenagers packed in my car from the front to the trunk, and we looked like clowns coming out of a clown car.
Pros
I like this Jeep because of the low cost maintenance. It still drives really good after 210,000 miles, and the only major parts I've replaced was the battery and alternator. The gas per miles on the road is great. It also come with an aux outlet so you can plug in your MP3 or phone to listen to your music.
Cons
The one con that I have are the inside door handles. Jeep decided to make plastic handles, and all four broke off after five years. I had to get them all replaced. Also the lock to my trunk got stuck, and I had to get it fixed.
