I was not looking for a Kia when I bought the Sportage In fact, I had never owned a Kia before. I bought it because it looked cute. I did not expect it to last long, but it has surprised me. I like it because it has a sporty feel, it's easy to maneuver, and it's good on gas. I have driven it for over 60,000 miles and it has not needed any repairs. It is surprisingly roomy for a small SUV. The back seat folds flat for carrying large loads. The interior trim has held up all this time, and when I have the car cleaned, it could pass for new.
Story
My husband refused to drive it at first - he is a truck man, and he felt the Kia was too small. Once he actually drove it, however, he ended up impressed with it.
Pros
My favorite features are the styling, the turning radius, and the little extras on the inside. The styling keeps it from looking like an old used car. It has a nice, small turning radius (handy for when I miss my turn). There is a cup holder in the front, as well as a cup holder and ashtray in the rear. It's size and turning radium make it easy for me in crowded parking lots. The Shortage has a very responsive feel and is truly fun to drive.
Cons
I only have one negative thing to say about my Sportage. I do not like the design of the rear door. There is a hinged spare tire holder that must be opened in one direction, then the rear door raises in a different direction. It would have been nice if the spare tire holder were attached to the rear door, and swung open at the same time. As it is, there is a little lever that has to be turned to swing open the spare tire holder to access the rear door, and in order to swing open the spare tire holder, you have to turn the lever AND pull the holder at the same time. This takes two hands, so... (more)

My wife and I recently found ourselves in need of replacing her 2010 Kia Forte due to an accident. She had been wanting a small to midsize SUV for some time, so we decided to look for a KIA Sportage. Her sister had owned a 2007 model before. We stopped in at the dealership where my wife had purchased her Forte and asked if they had a used Sportage. They showed us one, and it turned out to be the color my wife wanted! We took a short test drive and liked it very much. It was clean, had low mileage and basically looked almost brand new. It did not have a lot of fancy bells and whistles such as back-up camera, GPS, etc., but it was the right size and had all we really needed. We bought it, and so far, we are enjoying the car. It has room for my model aircraft and is great for grocery shop... (more)
Story
Showing up at my local RC flying field was great. I used to use my wife's Forte, which was pretty roomy, but when she was at work, I had to use my Mazda Miata!
Pros
Solid car that drives great, is quiet, roomy and so far very dependable. The back seats fold forward making room for my RC model aircraft and anything else we might want to haul. I like the size; it is roomy but still handles well and is easy to handle in parking lots.
Cons
The only negative I can think of is the gas mileage is a bit lower than I would have expected for this size (engine size too) of vehicle. It is not bad, but her Forte, of course, was much better on gas. Ours does not have any fancy equipment on it, but that is not really a negative against the quality of the vehicle. One other thing you might consider: Power is lacking but not that bad. I have the smaller engine (two liter I believe) and acceleration is a bit weak but still better than my wife's old Forte which was geared for economy.

Before and after the purchase, the employees were very professional and friendly. Kia, also, offered a very nice warranty on the Sorento. When I had a few minor problem that were covered by the warrant, the repair department fixed my car fast without any additional issues. Overall, the dealership exceeded my expectations in regards to the product and service. I would seriously entertain buying again from this dealership!
