The Range Rover Sport HSE is an absolutely fantastic ride, and the 8 cylinders give this SUV a beast mode mentality. As a driver who learned to drive in Europe, the acceleration and the relative smooth ride and agility are very important, there is a sense of power while riding in complete comfort. One of the best things, when you put the pedal to the metal, it takes off and it makes that awesome revving of the engine sound. For the first three or so years of ownership I had nothing but good things to say about this car. Then the electrical started going: warning lights are coming on that clearly should not be going on. Examples are, hood open warning light (hood's definitely not open) and brake warning light (brakes were replaced in the last year). Not so bad if not for the following: ... (more)
Story
I live close to a mountain range: I took this car off-road and it performed like you see in commercials. It went through mud, water, over rocks without problems. So much fun to be able to take a car off-road and it actually be able to perform as advertised.
Pros
- 8 cylinders give this SUV a beast mode mentality. - The acceleration and the relative smooth ride and agility. - There is a sense of power while riding in complete comfort. - When you put the pedal to the metal, it takes off and it makes that awesome revving of the engine sound. - Comfortable interior, including heated seats, heated steering, good sound system.
Cons
- Horrible electrical performance. Examples are, hood open warning light (hood's definitely not open) and brake warning light (brakes were replaced in the last year). - Land Rover has their cars set up in that there are very, very, very few non-dealer mechanics that can fix electrical issues with the car. - Car eats gas, although this is not too much of a con as you should expect this when you buy an 8 cylinder SUV.
