I love the Mazda3 S Grand Touring - at the time of purchasing my car in 2015, it had far more features (standard and add-on) compared to other cars of its class and the best interior design. I had considered both the Honda Civic and the Toyota Corolla, but the interiors of those cars and features just didn't compare. Toyota was severely lacking in features including back-up camera, and the neither brand provided blind spot detection. Mazda added a lot of good value including blind spot detection, hill assist, back-up camera and push button start. Its HUD continues to stand out even today.
Story
While I love driving my car to San Diego and Las Vegas, by far, the most memorable part was all of the memories with friends and late night drives in the rain. It's just so soothing, and being able to press on the gas was the best!
Pros
Heads-up display. Standard push button start. Adaptive headlights. Adaptive rain wipers. Hill assist (still not found on many other competitors!). Blind spot monitoring. Option to choose 184hp engine (not available in competitors offering 132-155hp). Two-tone white leather seats. Keyless entry without having to take out key fob. Automatic A/C. Beautiful interior - best under 30k!
Cons
Cabin can be kind of loud. Suspension on the S is kind of bumpy, but that should be expected. Pretty expensive with all packages included.

The 2016 Mazda3 is a great daily driver that balances fuel efficiency with power. This car has no issues merging onto the freeway, is comfortable and roomy for passengers, and has not needed any major maintenance at around 60,000 miles. While the interior of the sport trim is cloth, it does not feel cheap as I had anticipated. The blind spot monitoring has often saved me from many accidents and is an important safety feature. I often drive on dirt roads as a rock climber, and I have never had an issue bottoming out or getting stuck in dirt or mud!
Story
Driving this car around the National Parks in Utah was so much fun! I put the car into manual mode and revved up and down the mountain roads.
Pros
The top positive things about the Mazda3 are the gas mileage, affordable maintenance, and color selections are the top positive aspects of the Mazda3.
Cons
The top negative things about the Mazda3 are its thin paint and loud noise. I have many tiny scratches from gravel or my keys lightly brushing against the car. Once I switched out the stock tires, my the inside of my car became quieter when driving on the highway.
