My Mazda 3 was the first car I bought for myself. It's zippy and fun and meets all my needs. I'm very happy with this purchase and have recommended it to all my friends looking for new cars. The grill looks like a smiley-face, so I always feel a little charmed by it. I like how it's little and fast, so it can maneuver well on the freeway. The acceleration is excellent for this car. You go from 0 to 60 so fast. I get so much joy from driving this car fast on the freeway. The seats are cloth, but they look good. It's a four door with plenty of space in trunk, but I've heard that the hatchback is really spacious. There's radio dials on the steering wheel, which is really convenient when you want to change songs/stations, but still want to focus on driving. It came with a CD player, but th... (more)
Story
When I first got my car, I went on a trip to Sequoia. There's a stretch of highway by Bakersfield that's very straight and empty, so I drove 100 mph for a little bit.
Pros
It's fast and picks up speed very quickly. It gets good MPG.
Cons
Automatic doors are not standard for this car, so it's a hassle to let friends in.

This car was a good car for the time I had it, which was up until it was involved in an accident that totaled it (the side airbags deployed).
Story
I took this car to Vegas for my 30th birthday. I also went to San Diego and La Jolla in this car and went to a wedding and toured breweries with my boyfriend.
Pros
The ride was smooth and the acceleration was quick. I liked that the seats were fabric and not leather because I live in Southern California. The sound system was better than average. I did not experience any "known dealer issues" the entire time I had the car. The car gets adequate gas mileage. There was room to comfortably fit five adults, including one very tall person and one very overweight person. The car handled well. The trunk was roomy. The car came with a CD player. The car had sufficient safety features that I was protected when I was t-boned against my driver door.
Cons
I did notice over time that the top curved part of the dashboard did begin to separate from the rest of the dash. My car did not have Bluetooth features. My car only had one pocket accessible from the backseat (my current car has two). My car did not have remote start.
