2012 Mazda Mazda6 - Good value looks great
I like the sporty look of the car at a good price. It is comfortable and looks nice inside and out. Fun to drive.
I have received decent gas mileage, but I think it could probably be a bit better. The car does make a bit of a sound when braking, but have had it checked out and it is OK.
Story
Bought it up at my parents cottage in August and drove it home (2 hours) with the windows down on a nice August night. Great memory.
Pros
Good price.
Cons
Gas Mileage could be better
2014 Mazda Mazda6 - Mazda 6, a stylish ride.
I bought my 2014 Mazda6 about 6 months ago, after my 2001 Honda Civic died with almost 250,000 miles on it. Initially I was looking at a new Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla, but after test driving them found them too small and uncomfortable. Upgrading to the Accord or Camry did not improve comfort. I expanded my search, and found the Mazda6. It is roomy enough for 5 people to ride comfortably, but still gets great gas mileage. It has great pickup, and handles responsively. Good ABS brakes. Finally, it looks great!
Story
On a winding country road with oncoming traffic, a car pulled out right in front of me. I hit the brakes hard, but thought for sure I'd have an accident. The good ABS brakes and agile handling prevented an accident.
Pros
My Mazda6 is sporty yet reliable. It fits my entire family and all our luggage comfortably on long trips. It gets good gas mileage, handles well and responsively, and provides a smooth ride. It is quiet enough in the cab to listen to audio books on a long trip or have an intimate conversation. My kids love playing with the touch screen, and I love that my car keeps them safe. The dash has a pleasing and easy to read layout. I love playing with the readout that tells MPG, and finding the sweet spot that gives me 42.6 MPG on the highway.
Cons
The seats are not as comfortable as they could be, and I had to reverse the driver's head rest to make the seat more comfortable. The check tire pressure light comes on frequently, and the tires need to be topped off every 1000 miles or so.
