I leased the vehicle brand new. It had 4 miles on it when I took it home and now has almost 1700. It has been a solid performer, and does exactly what I need it to do. There are no unusual rattles or shakes, and it drives smooth as butter at 110mph. The brakes slow it down when I need them to, and there are no delays once I step on the pedal. It's got just enough power for me to not get myself into trouble with, and even though it's a four cylinder engine, it's got enough oomph that when my light turns green, I pass the crosswalk on the opposite side of the street before the cars on the same side do.
Story
I haven't really owned it long enough to have had any fun in it yet, unfortunately.
Pros
Top selling things were that it's a Mazda, first and foremost. This is the fourth Mazda I've owned in my life and I'll never buy another make. The price of the lease agreement was right for my budget and it was easy as all get out to get everything done in a morning. My favorite features are that I can listen to the music on my iPod while I drive, and when I plug it and my phone into the USB ports, it not only powers then, it also charges them without having to use an actual charger.
Cons
The only negative thing, and this is my fault for not doing my homework, is that it has an automatic transmission. I originally had wanted a 5-speed, but the saleslady told me that because the residual value on MT cars is so low these days, not many are available as the majority of them are equipped with an AT now. Other than that, there are no negatives that I can think of that would affect my decision to purchase another Mazda in the future.

2014 Mazda Mazda3 - Great, reliable car.

I bought the Mazda3 after a lot of research on Consumer Reports. The car consistently scored higher than most cars on reliability as well as gas mileage. Not only that, but the car has a very stylish look that's got the attention of a few of my friends. I initially thought about buying the Mazda6, but after sitting in the Mazda3, I found the spacing more to my liking, and the Mazda6 to actually be a little too big. The car drives and handles really well and, so far, has needed little maintenance other than oil changes.
Story
I pulled up to work, and one of my coworkers couldn't stop admiring this car!
Pros
The car is stylish, well built, and has a really nice feel. It's been as reliable as the Consumer Reports write-ups suggest and gets great gas mileage. The car handles really well for the most part and has built-in Bluetooth and multiple USB charging ports, making it easy to listen to podcasts on a long drive.
Cons
If there's one thing I don't like, it's the side walls next to the front window. The angle it comes down sometimes blocks traffic at certain angles. I nearly got in two collisions because the side wall blocked the view of a car approaching from the side. Also, the radio looks like it was tacked on to the top of the dashboard rather than designed as part of it. It's awkward and weird. And if can be difficult to haul things, not because of the amount of room but because of the way the car is designed. The hatchback probably doesn't have this problem.
