I have loved my experience with my cruse, but it has also helped me realize what I like and dislike in my vehicle, better preparing me for my next vehicle purchase already. I did a lot of research on this vehicle for well over a year before deciding to lease it, so I was well aware of some of the pros and cons associated with it before even driving one.
Story
Driving my car down the Pacific Coast Highway in California.
Pros
I love the design of this car, it is particularly roomy for the driver and passenger, but also enough space for back seat passengers while not losing trunk space. The car is very modern looking and even after 2 years does not appear to have aged significantly. The car runs perfectly in all seasons, and handles very well in poor driving conditions.
Cons
I'm not a huge fan of the car's fuel efficiency on city streets. I can get long distances with good gas mileage, but just driving around town it drops about 10 miles per gallon. I also have issues when trying to open a window, I always need to open multiple windows otherwise the wind flows through it weirdly. There also seems to be an issue with the vents sometimes because there is a weird smell that comes out when I have the heat on in humid weather..

The build gives a sporty look, yet the back seat has plenty of leg room and the trunk is oversized. The mileage is over 30 mpg, and I'm at 108,000 miles. The water pump did go out once, and the head gasket had to be changed, but both were under warranty. The back seats lay down, so I can take my kayak in the car. The color is like a sky blue, and it doesn't show dirt. The engine has both manual and automatic transmission options. It is a turbo engine. The pickup will amaze you. For less than $20,000, you can't be a it for an American-made car. The tires were relatively inexpensive to replace at 88,000 miles.
Story
When I first bought it, I was driving around with my windows down, and it was the first year for the Cruze. Someone hollered at me "Is that a Cruze?" I hollered back "Yes." She hollered again "love that color!"
Pros
The reliability can't be beat. The fuel is extremely economical, getting over 30 mpg. The paint color doesn't show dirt. The trunk is massive. The back seats lay down to expand the trunk. The cruise control is on the steering wheel, and the speed is clear in large electronic numbers. The music and Bluetooth are also on the steering wheel. The front seats feel very ergonomical and comfortable, even on a long trip.
Cons
The water pump went out early, and the shop I took it to thought it was the thermostat, which in this vehicle is over $400. The head gasket also went out, and luckily, it was covered by warranty. Only one power plug in the front makes it so that I have to run the cord for my GPS to the back seat to plug in.
