The Toyota Prius is spacious, yet still compact and easy to drive. The trunk space is very large and the back seats fold down. This opens up lots of storage/moving options. The vehicle is a hybrid, so it gets great gas mileage. I usually average about 51 miles per gallon. My monthly gas expenses were cut in half after I purchased this vehicle. Also, since this car is a hybrid, it doesn't rely on the brakes often and that limits repair expenses. The vehicle has many safety features, including a back-up camera. The price is also reasonable compared to other similar vehicles on the market. While this is a great vehicle, it's not the best to drive in difficult road conditions. I live where it snows over half of the year, and there are many times where I decide to just stay home because of ... (more)
Story
I was able to take this vehicle on a road trip for a very low cost. It was a fun way to spend time with my family.
Pros
Great gas mileage. Good for the environment. Low maintenance expenses.
Cons
Not the best in difficult weather.

2012 Toyota Prius - A good car for local driving

I think the Toyota Prius is a pretty dependable vehicle that is especially ideal for local driving. It may not be the most powerful or smoothest vehicle, but there's a nice sense of satisfaction that comes from sitting in traffic on the highway and having your engine be totally silent while it conserves gas. I appreciate the look of the car, as well, and its distinctiveness gives me a heightened sense of ownership.
Story
It's always fun to park at work between two SUVs in tight spaces.
Pros
By far the biggest pro is the mileage. I live three miles from my office and use less than a gallon of gas commuting to and fro each week. And when I fill up at the pump, I rarely pay more than $20-$25 to do so. The satellite radio works very well, and there's actually a reasonable amount of space for backseat passengers despite the rather small size. Seats fold down easily as well.
Cons
Don't plan on fitting very much in the trunk. Even with the seats folded down, loading something as simple as a multi-part desk can become an exercise in playing a Tetris-like game. The fuel efficiency is not great for drives of 5 miles or less (which is the distance I usually drive)--the engine can be relatively inefficient while warming up, and the hybrid technology doesn't kick in right away.

This dealership had helpful individuals who tried there best to help me walk out the door with the lowest interest rate for a car loan. They were quick to answer all questions and helped provide a source to answer all questions related to first time car buying. Also, their convenient hours and home like accommodations made buying a car feel like buying it from family.
