2008 Toyota Sienna - Solid Family Mini Van
This is my second Toyota Sienna. The quality of these vehicles is great and I have had no issues other than standard wear and tear over the past 8 years. Handling much like a car, I like having the higher profile for increased site lines. This is great especially when driving in snowy conditions. The seats have survived many boys' sporting teams and clean up nicely (even though they are a lightish grey).
Story
We had planned our first camping trip for weeks and couldn't wait to get away. The first night around 2am the rains came-our tent was in the line of a pretty significant run-off. Having this van was a life saver that night as we could all fit inside and still get some sleep while the rain fell. After 6 years my son still says-remember the night the van saved us!
Pros
The 3rd row seats are extremely easy to fold down and the option to split the fold down seats is a plus. I love that the 4 door windows can open and that the rear windows can be vented. As a shorter person having an adjustable seat that goes up and down is a plus as well as the adjustable steering wheel.
Cons
Opening and closing the automatic door sometimes confused people as they try and slide it versus letting the door close itself. There have been four recalls on the vehicle, however my local dealer address them all at no cost! The spare tire is located underneath the vehicle which would make having to remove it a very cumbersome process. I get about 18-20 MPG I wish it was a little more cost effective.
2005 Toyota Sienna - Awesome
The Toyota Sienna performs very well on long road trips. I love the radio in this van.
Story
I was able to get out of the mud with little effort. The AWD works wonderfully.
Pros
The fuel economy is great. All-wheel drive is really beneficial.
Cons
Tire noise and wind vibration can really mess with things on the road. I need to keep windows closed at speeds of 40 mph+.
