1999 Nissan Sentra - Great, long lasting first car.
I received this car in college 7 years ago. It has run consistently with little maintenance in that time. It is only the last year or so that I have had do put money into maintenance other than oil changes. Low cost reliability is one of the most important things to me and this car has more than delivered. It is a manual and that plus the build and weight of the car mean it also gets great gas mileage. Overall, it isn't the fanciest car out there, but it has more than met my needs in providing reliable and efficient transportation.
Story
My freshman year of college I needed to move myself home. I fit everything from my dorm room into this car! It was a tight fit, and I could just barely still work the gear shift, but we made it back!
Pros
It gets great gas mileage, reliable (over 210,000 miles with very few problems). It has a CD player and power windows, both improvements from my old car! It also has a remote key fob to lock and unlock the car. The truck is surprisingly large for the size of the car, and one of the backseats can fold down. I like the small size of the car, it feels like I can zip around in traffic. Surprisingly good on ice/snow!
Cons
The small engine size means I do need to conserve power by turning off the air from time to time.
2006 Nissan Sentra - Amazing
The vehicle is very good! The car gets excellent gas mileage to start. My city MPG is 31 miles per gallon. The car handles like a charm and is pretty quick for a 1.8L engine. I have no complaints with the car.
Story
I got my car stuck in snow and just used my driving skills to get it unstuck.
Pros
The miles per gallon.
The upgraded stereo system.
The stylish spoiler.
Cons
The CD changer broke.
