Reliable, No-Frills Car
This car has been very dependable (given its age) with no major problems or breakdowns. It is cheap to drive and maintain. It's not fancy, but that's obvious.

Skip the Sentra
The 2008 Nissan Sentra looks wonderful from the outside. My vehicle is the Sierra Red color and it is a stunning shade and a sporty looking body. The car does get fairly good gas mileage at around 25 mpg, 30 if they are highway miles. That's where the good points stop. Over the past five years, there have been numerous issues and recalls. There are maintenance lights to come on frequently- even if there isn't a problem. These lights can only be turned off at a Nissan shop- massive points off. The tires and alignment go quickly, even with proper maintenance. In terms of how it drives, the car frequently feels "off" in its steering. The problem comes and goes and many Nissan shops have not been able to diagnose it. The front wheel drive was also unfortunate. It made the car dangerous to drive in any adverse weather. While the anti-lock breaks did help and work correctly, that doesn't help with steering. It was difficult to drove over the smallest of hills in rain or snow. Overall, while this wasn't to worst car ever, I would never purchase it again- a 2008 model or a new model.
