The 2011 Nissan Versa hatchback is, overall, a reliable no-frills vehicle. Although it lacks features such as steering wheel controls and cruise control, the storage space and small size make it easy to hop in and go anywhere without much forethought. While the car is small by any standards, it does not feel cramped inside, and parking (especially parallel parking) is a breeze. Comfort features such as air conditioning and radio work exactly as expected. This car does not require much maintenance outside of regular oil changes and inspections, making it an economical choice for a young adult in college or just beginning their career.
Story
I travel with my dog frequently, and this is my first hatchback. During our first drive together in the Versa, he managed to hop over the backseat partition and into the trunk. I found him laying comfortably back there when we arrived at the park, as if it were a nap space designed for him!
Pros
The best part about the 2011 Nissan Versa is definitely the versatility in storage options. The hatchback trunk section can work as a regular trunk, but for larger items, the back seats fold forward to accommodate larger loads. I never have any trouble finding the space for my dog training equipment - even large dog crates! This versatility does not come at the price of manageable size, and the Versa still handles like a typical small economy car. This is a great feature for those people who dislike driving larger vehicles and only occasionally have a need to transport larger objects. The ... (more)
Cons
The acceleration is not fabulous, even for an economy car. Acceleration on highways and uphill requires more pressure on the gas pedal than a newer or higher-end vehicle. This takes away from the enjoyment of the driving experience, particularly for those who value it. There is no option for cruise control, so a driver who frequently travels long distances on straight highways may want to choose a different car. I have also found that the speaker system has begun to break down and have static feedback at times; the radio is also notably quieter than other vehicles at similar volume levels.... (more)

The Nissan Versa hatchback has been a good little car for my family. First, it looks cute and it comes in blue. That may seem superficial, but I like color and find the usual assortment of black, silver, and white to be boring. The exterior does dent pretty easily - shopping carts or even accidentally bumping into my car have left small dents. The original hubcaps/wheel covers fell off very easily within the first year or two. Otherwise, the exterior is very nice. It's a comfortable car - we drive very long distances and the seats are very comfortable. I did have to remove the driver's headrest because I felt it pushed up against my head too much, which was not comfortable. The backseats are adequate for a small family. The bench fits two car seats comfortably, though that eliminat... (more)
Story
Our Versa has taken us everywhere - from work and school to family road trips. It's always been a pleasure to drive both the short distances and the very long distances.
Pros
Reliable. Good gas mileage. Comfortable seats. Good radio, sound system. Tough - handles frequent use and mileage very well. Very few blind spots - easy to get a clear picture in all directions. Comes in nice colors.
Cons
Uncomfortable head rests. Dents easily. Velcro for the hatchback covers doesn't hold very well. Leg room is not the best for taller people. High level of road noise....not a quiet ride. Hubcaps/wheel covers fell off easily.
