2010 Toyota Corolla - VERY Reliable Car
I purchased this car 2 months ago with the recommendation from some of my siblings. It has over 100,000 miles on it and runs like a dream. I feel safe in it and have absolutely no worries when driving. I come from a large family of primarily Toyota-owners, five of whom drive Toyota Corollas and we all LOVE our Corollas. It is a VERY reliable car and none of us have ever had any major or concerning issues with our cars, which range in years from 2007 to 2015. It is excellent in the snow. It is also very simple to drive. The trunk is really large and can easily fit a table. The backseat is also very roomy, especially since this is considered to be a smaller car.

I comfortably drove ~10 hours in one day in this vehicle & only had to refuel once toward the end!

The automatic headlights are great! I also love that the daytime running lights are automatically on. I love that it automatically calculates the miles per gallon, both at the current moment and on average. The temperature gauge is also a great feature!

I wish the dashboard was more modern. The clock is also in a very peculiar place.

2010 Toyota Corolla - Good starter vehicle. Good price.
When I purchased the vehicle, the thing I liked most about it was the AUX port -- I had been forced to use radio tuners or just listen to the radio on my previous vehicles, and I really enjoyed being able to plug my phone directly into the vehicle. Also, the gas mileage on this car is fantastic. I drive about 10 miles to work each day, there and back, and fill my tank about every other week. The interior of the vehicle was really nicely furnished, the plastic parts felt sturdy and there was no cheap materials used. The cushioning on the drivers seat was adequate, and I liked the "fuzzy" feel of the fabric. I was not too impressed by the dash overall; it's pretty boring, and there are not a lot of features on it (besides the AUX port). The knobs and stereo area are all pretty old fashio... (more)

The knobs and stereo area are all pretty old fashioned looking, and there is very little personalization on the dash. I also like the brand name a lot, Toyota is a reliable car company, and I know that when I do purchase a new vehicle, I will get top dollar for my used trade in. The only other thing that I really dislike is the difficulty of changing the oil and filter. The filter is oddly shaped (not standard) and very difficult to get to, so I am forced to take the car to a mechanic for an oil change rather than completing it myself, which I would prefer to do. Overall, this car lasted me through the last 2 years of college in Philadelphia, so it can tackle most anything now that I am out of the city.
I live in a hilly area in PA, and I would always enjoy cranking up the stereo on Friday nights with my friends in the car and just driving over the mountains.

The AUX port was nice to have back in 2010 when I purchased the car -- no need to be forced to listen to the radio or use an inefficient radio tuner. I mostly enjoyed being able to have my entire music library with me and able to listen to any of it at any time. I also really liked the interiors. The inside went well with the outside paint of the car, and nothing seemed cheaply done or that the manufacturer was trying to cut corners. I have not had anything break in the interior of the vehicle (buttons, knobs, locks, door handles, emergency breaks, etc.), and I really appreciate that, as I... (more)

I have not had anything break in the interior of the vehicle (buttons, knobs, locks, door handles, emergency breaks, etc.), and I really appreciate that, as I am pretty rough on my vehicles. I also really enjoy not having to go to a certain mechanic or use certain parts because of the manufacturer making sure that I could only use Toyota parts. I used a lot of aftermarket parts when I had to replace anything (mostly tires and breaks/rotors). I also enjoy that the headlights do not get dirty. I mean it. I have not once had to clean the plastic casing for the headlights, and driving in PA, especially during the winter months, is dirty driving. Most of my car is the original parts. I have only had to replace tires, breaks and my A/C system after a minor accident. The car is sturdy in bad weather and high winds. I have never felt unsure or unsafe in this vehicle. The gas mileage on the vehicle is also very good.
I cannot think of too many negatives about this car, but it is small. As I got married and acquired many pets, I am finding that the space inside as well as trunk space are just not adequate any longer. When my husband and I go on vacations, we often have to store luggage and other travel things in both the trunk and back seat, as the trunk space is used up very quickly. I also do not like that you have to go into the trunk in order to pull a knob that will allow you to push down the back seats to create more space. It's annoying to have to go back and forth in that way. I am also a taller... (more)

It's annoying to have to go back and forth in that way. I am also a taller person (5'7"), and whenever I am wearing a hat or anything else on my head, it always causes me to bump my head on the ceiling when entering and exiting the vehicle. As mentioned in the "review" section, not being able to change my own oil is also frustrating, as I then have to spend an upwards of $30 on an oil change at a mechanic, rather than spending around $10 to do it myself. Overall, there is nothing too fancy or unique about this car, so that is also kind of annoying, as the car is very generic and sometimes hard to find in full parking lots.
