2014 Toyota RAV4 - Great all-around vehicle
The main use of my vehicle is to drive to and from work. It gets pretty good gas mileage, although I'd like it to have a little larger gas tank so I don't need to fill up as often. It has a decent amount of power and great handling for driving on our winding, hilly roads. There is an Eco option that helps with gas mileage on the highway and a Sport option for when I'm out on the unpaved mountain roads. My interior is cloth and a light color. I'd prefer leather and darker colors as I have kids and a dog, but so far it's held up well. The vehicle came equipped with XM Radio, but service goes in and out far more often than in my other vehicle. It is also equipped with navigation, which is quite convenient. It provides a smooth ride and I've had no mechanical issues yet, despite having put... (more)
Story
I took the family out on the mountain through the state forest to look for berries. The roads were muddy, and some sections are rather steep. We had the moon roof open and all the windows down and I put it in sport mode. We had so much fun "muddin" that we didn't even stop for berries.
Pros
I love the way the RAV handles. It provides a smooth and fairly quiet ride. The size makes it easier to get around in, but it still has plenty of space to haul what I need.
Cons
The only thing I'm slightly irritated with is the size of the gas tank. If it would hold another couple gallons I'd be happy.
2004 Toyota RAV4 - Fabulous Toyota Rav4.
Overall the RAV4 has been a great car. I bought it before I had children, and it was great for going to work, traveling out of state to visit family, etc. Now that we have two small children, our needs have changed, but the RAV4 has maintain its usefulness. It has been great with two car seats, a trunk full of kid-related gear, etc. So it has turned out to be very versatile, which has been great for our changing needs. It also has been super reliable, needing little more than standard maintenance (with 175,000 miles on it).
Story
This car got us safely through an unexpected major snowstorm while traveling in Vermont.
Pros
I love how high the car is off the ground. I can see easily over other cars in traffic, and it feels safer. It also allows the seat design to more closely mimic a chair, instead of a recliner. With the Rav4, you sit upright, with your legs down as if you were sitting in a dining room chair. In other cars, your legs are stretched in front of you, and I have found that the style of seats in the RAV4 are much, much more comfortable for my back when my sciatica acts up. I also like the large trunk and the back seats that are completely removable.
Cons
Very little is worth complaining about. The tires tend to be more expensive than sedan tires because they are larger, but the extra cost is not prohibitive. Also, sun visor mechanism broke, and the mechanic said that this has been a common problem with this car. At $80 to replace, it was a relatively expensive repair. Finally, there are no air conditioning/heat vents in the back seat. This makes summer miserable (and potentially dangerous) for backseat passengers, especially for small children in rear-facing car seats.

2011 Toyota RAV4 - Toyota Scion Of Scranton
Toyota Scion of Scranton really goes out of their way to help the customers. I was introduced to the dealer thru an emergency visit to the service department. Since then I've always come back both for new cars and for servicing.
2007 Toyota Corolla - Eds Alternative Auto North East
Ed provided good service and helped me change over the title, get a license plate, and work out a warranty. We worked out a deal that he paid for half the warranty. He was friendly and wasn't at all the stereotypical used care salesman type. He has a small selection of cars, but I found him through craigslist anyway, so I knew he had what I wanted. Would buy from him again if he has what I need when I buy another car.
