I adore my Ford Escape XLT- it gets great mileage and is a sturdy workhorse. I love this particular body style with the square-ish rear of the vehicle, which is perfect for stowing items. This is a perfect small SUV for maneuvering in the congested suburbs and the city. There are very few parking spaces this vehicle cannot fit in!
Story
I really do not have a specific story, but I just love my 2004 Ford Escape- so much, that I really should consider purchasing a new one, because of the mileage...it is time for a new vehicle, however I love this body style so much and the newer Ford Escapes, though nice, don't seem to offer as much space in the rear for cargo/passengers. This vehicle has made so many trips to the beach, and w... (more)
Pros
My favorite features would be the body style and the safety options, which include front and side curtain airbags and steel bars in the doors. This vehicle has a fantastic payload and I have used it over the years to move TONS of dirt, mulch, landscape bricks and plants. The vehicle gets very good gas mileage and is so much fun to drive! The vehicle is very easy to get in and out of - not as high as a truck and not as low as a sedan - perfect for a senior citizen or someone like me that has back issues. The additional running boards really help.
Cons
Purchasing this vehicle brand new, I had quite a bit of electrical issues with the fuses but, once rectified, the car has been incredibly reliable. Obviously my vehicle has seen a few years on it, but this particular model has had issues with rust over the wheel wells. Apparently the vehicle was not coated in this area, because I see the same year Ford Escape vehicles all over in my travels and they all have this "Cancer" in the same place. I had the rust fixed on the rear driver's side wheel well and it is now starting to bubble and pucker on the passenger side rear, as well.

The vehicle is really nice for a stock vehicle. It had Bluetooth and everything was automatic. Believe it or not, when it was made not everything was automatic, so we appreciated that. It is reliable and has some nice features. Child window and door locks. Hooks for car seats that are versatile, meaning you can connect different car seats regardless of where the hooks are. I liked the space it provided. We have not had any issues with the vehicle performance. It runs smooth, and doesn't sound like a truck going down the road.
Story
Probably not one you want to hear but my child got car sick in the back roads of Virginia, and she lost it all over herself and everything else. Well, the Escape was big enough in the back that we could take her back there remove all her gross clothing clean her up, and get her back to normal. That was a huge blessing for us on that day. Like I said the space is nice.
Pros
Probably one of the best things about this car when I bought it was the space. I know some people do not like how small crossovers are compared to other vehicles but we came from a much smaller car, and the extra space in the back was exactly what we needed for our family of four. Talking of space I also like how the middle row of seats fold forward. I had no idea, I fit a whole bunk bed into the back of the Escape. It is roomy enough for my family. As far as reliability goes, we have had no problems with it since we purchased it. Some of the safety features are nice. Window locks and door... (more)
Cons
One of the things that I think they should have improved is the display. It is antiquated even for 2013. I hear they have newer ones with better software but I am not interested in upgrading it for the cost. The Bluetooth is nice but you have to connect each time you enter the car. It can get annoying to do that. I am grateful it has Bluetooth but it would be nice to have it auto connect.

I don't know if this dealership is necessarily the best, but its the dealership that I am most familiar with. It is located roughly five miles away from where I grew up as a child and it's HUGE. Seriously, the biggest selection of cars I've ever seen in one place. I figured it I couldn't find a car here for my price range, I couldn't find one anywhere.

They listened to what I wanted and provided great feedback on trying to find a good fit with a car that matched my day to day activity. They also gave me a great deal on the car and set me up with low rates for financing. The customer service was exceptional and the team over at the Langhorne branch were very knowledgeable about the products they were selling.
