2010 Scion tC - Solid
The Scion Tc was the first car that I bought for myself as a new vehicle in 2010. I was 25, had graduated from college and had been working for a couple years to save up some money and was interested in getting a cool new car. The Scion was a nice mixture of many factors—price, dependability, fun style, solid gas mileage.
Story
I had a wonderful time driving my Scion from Wisconsin to Colorado (over 15 hours each way) with my wife to celebrate her birthday. It was lots of fun driving around the Rocky Mountain park and all of the beautiful sightseeing there.
Pros
I really liked the moon roof over the years. The sound system was great. It was a little faster and more powerful than other boring reliable cars that I was considering like the Corolla or Civic. I loved the shade of blue that I chose. It was affordable to me as a new vehicle, and I didn't have to worry about previous owners.
Cons
I feel like the upkeep and maintenance costs have been a little higher than I was expecting. The car can be difficult for more than 2 people, and in my job, I have struggled with clients getting in and out of the back seat. The car is very low, which has led to scraping the bumper on things and having to be very careful with big declines or speed bumps, etc. There is a big blind spot with this car, which can make it anxious to drive.
