I like them so much that this is the second Smart car I have purchased. I think they are excellent for both running errands and commuting to work. They have the highest safety rating: five stars. I traded in my first Smart car for this one so I could get a built-in GPS and cruise control to make my commute and road trips easier. It's a fun car to drive, and I actually forget how small it is when I am inside it. The mileage is amazing, so it is very economical to drive. Its small size allows it to handle very well in tight spaces and fit into parking spaces that others cannot. It is surprising how much storage space the car has inside. The hatchback can hold my full-size suitcase or a week's worth of groceries. The passenger seat folds flat, and then it is level with the hatchback to al... (more)
Story
Whenever I drive the car, it attracts a lot of attention, and I remember several times when strangers approach me to ask about the safety of the car and how it rides. I am always happy to pleasantly surprise them.
Pros
The Smart gets extremely good gas mileage. I also love how easy it is to maneuver. With its smaller size, I can park in smaller spaces and make U-turns easier.
Cons
The ride could be smoother, and the interior cabin is a noisy compared to other cars.

The Smart car is a fun car to drive. It is very maneuverable with excellent gas mileage! You can even get them in convertibles as well as a sports version. It's great for the city or the highway and has a surprising amount of cargo space for a car its size.
Story
I always love how many comments I get on my car -- people tell me all the time how cute my car is. It is a conversation piece with strangers.
Pros
As a used car, it sells for cheap. MPG is typically 35-40 which is far better than on my old VW Bug. I love driving it with the convertible top down, and I love that the top can be raised and lowered while driving. It has quite a good amount of cargo room for being such a small car too. And being a convertible, you can always put tall things out the roof! It is super easy to park anywhere!
Cons
The convertible top doesn't completely latch which adds in some wind noise and makes going through automatic car washes a damp experience! The plastic outside is a bit flimsy, and I had a piece just fall off somewhere. The air conditioner works, but the car never gets super cool in the Texas heat. Older models don't have a lot of power, but the newer ones seem greatly improved in this area.
