The 2005 Subaru WRX is a practical fun car that I enjoy daily driving. The moment I get in, before even starting the vehicle I already feel the fun vibe and atmosphere from the car. The interior is pretty basic, but it has everything I would need. What it lacks in creature comforts, it makes up for in performance and overall satisfaction. The 5-speed manual puts me in full control of the car, and gives confidence even in the moments you loose traction (such as snow or ice). The All Wheel Drive system is one of the best out there, especially for the price, and the control and feel it gives you is very hard to come by even with modern cars.
Story
Driving in the snow is insanely fun, I've towed cars that were stuck multiple times. Most of the time I don't know the person who is stuck, I just tell them I got a tow rope in my car and offer to help. Going camping is always fun, and seeing the expression on a Jeep owners face when I rock climb is priceless.
Pros
Turbo charged Flat 4 is one of the funniest engines I've been able to drive. I am very happy to start her up every day and the tone of the engine always puts a smile on my face. I always wave to fellow WRX and Subaru XT owners, and they usually nod in approval or throw a peace sign back. Its not only the car that makes me happy, its the Subaru community that makes owning a Subaru such an awesome experience. Parts are also very easy to come by, my suspension coil overs are from a Forester XT for a 2 inch lift, control arms and hubs from the JDM WRX STI for added width to the overall car, al... (more)
Cons
Audio system could be better, but I find myself turning down the music to listen to the engine. Insurance prices are higher than most cars. Maintenance is more expensive than a 2WD car, but that is always the case if you want AWD. Also you have a turbo to worry about, but its worth the hassle.
