2008 Subaru Outback - I love my Subaru. The only thing I have to complain about is the gaskets that you have to change after a certain mileage and they cost a lot.

I love my car, I love the golden color. It is comfortable, has 8 airbags. I feel safe driving it in the snow. It has a big trunk, I can have my dogs there comfortably. It does not go to the shop often but last time I had to change head gaskets and timing belt and the gaskets in the Subaru are a pain and expensive. Mainly it is a good family car and they go for a long time. I am hoping to have this one past the 200K miles.
Story
The fun story is that I bought it because I had a good job and the following week my boss lost everything in the stock crash and I lost my job. But I still felt proud I had it and ultimately paid for it without much trouble.
Pros
I had a Subaru before, I love the AWD. I think it is a safe car for bad weather conditions. It is a great car for Colorado. I like that fact that it has all those air bags and I can have 5 people in the car comfortably.
Cons
For me really only the gaskets, maybe now I would rather have a hybrid car but they are still expensive.

This was my first Subaru and now I know what all the hype is about. While my car is pushing 20 years old, the former owners had met all the service intervals which kept it running like a champ. Mine is a manual transmission, 4-door hatchback. It has a good amount of power for a 4 cylinder and has never given me any problems *knocks on wood* despite having over 120,000 miles. My favorite thing about my car, other than its reliability, is that the hatchback has what I call a "couch" when I pop open the back. It basically converts nicely into comfy seating when I put pillows and blankets back there. Not to mention the seats fold down and 2 people could potentially car camp in it. Story
I went on the first date with my now husband down a long bumpy dirt road in the mountains, and we hung out in the hatchback "couch" end. It was cooler outside given that it was May in the mountains (about 10,000 feet elevation, in Colorado) and the weather was sunny when suddenly we watched a rain/hail storm sweep in. Pros
-Good amount of power behind the engine even though it's a 4 cylinder. -Good amount of room for a smaller 4 door car. Never had anyone complain that it was cramped. -It is super reliable in that I have never had to take it in for repairs.
Cons
The only thing I dislike about my car is that it doesn't have cup holders.
