This Subaru Outback has been versatile and reliable -- pulls my small trailer, takes me off road, and has enough indoor cargo space for my adventure gear. It's a great looking, reasonably priced car as well. I would buy another Subaru as it has been such a great tool for all my adventures.
Story
I used my Outback to help pull out a Jeep that had gotten stuck in sand on a beach. The Jeep was stuck up to its axles but a good yank from the Outback freed it.
Pros
The all-wheel drive is a huge asset to me as an outdoor photographer. I have had the car on rough wilderness roads, beaches, hillsides -- all without any problems or issues. The car is reliable, and after several trips back and forth across the country, I know I can count on it to get me where I need to go, including pulling my travel trailer. I especially like the roomy cargo area that lets me load up my gear and still have enough space to sleep overnight or take a nap during a road trip.
Cons
I would have loved this car to have a slightly higher tow capacity and hitch rating.

2005 Subaru Outback - Excellent! Would buy again.

Overall, I love the car's performance and reliability. The styling is sleek with a single color and no black trim. I think this make the car more attractive than earlier models that have black trim on the bottom. The car is very comfortable with enough leg room in the front. Leg room in the back could be improved. The cargo area is large and easily accessible. There are no noises or blind spots in the car. Visibility out of all the windows is excellent. Gas mileage is ok, but the car is all wheel drive so I don't expect spectacular gas mileage for this car. Repairs on this model are fair. Brakes and rotors need to be replaced frequently and I have to keep a close eye on the tire pressure. Headlights burn out quickly and need to be replaced frequently. I can't say that thi... (more)
Story
No really fun stories.
Pros
The all wheel drive is my absolute favorite feature of this car and Subaru's in general. I love the great visibility out the windows and the road clearance. Braking is excellent and fast.
Cons
Gas mileage is the biggest con of this vehicle. I would love to get over 30 mpg in this vehicle but am lucky if I ever approach 26. Headlights burn out quickly and need to be replaced often. Brakes and rotors need to be replaced often.

It is a small dealership compared to others and the sales agents were very friendly and courteous. They took the time to see I was comfortable and supplied coffee before I sat down to speak with them.

They took so much time with me searching for a car that I wanted. They took every effort in making sure that it was the color that I wanted and had as many options as I was looking for. Then, they sat down with me to discuss my financial situation and figure out a way to make it work. I am so excited to go back to them. The paperwork is almost final and I will be going back for my new car soon.
