Overall, I have been disappointed with this car. I previously owned a 2001 Toyota Corolla and loved it. I feel like Toyota has really done a hatchet job on these cars. The interior especially. While the interior on the 2001 Corolla was well appointed, the interior on this one seems really cheap. It just feels like they have sacrificed quality since so many people buy these cars now.
Story
Best memory I have of this vehicle is driving to Memphis with a couple of friends. Such a small car and we had four guys and all of our stuff crammed into it.
Pros
The car holds up really well and maintenance costs are minimal. The vehicle has held its value nicely as well. The car runs quietly and turns on every time you insert the key. You can't go wrong with any of the Toyota family when it comes to dependability. Minimal costs and minimal worries.
Cons
The quality of these cars has gone downhill. The interior feels cheap. Additionally, the car accelerates very choppy. The previous Corolla that I had drove much smoother. Just feels like they attempted to save every penny on this car.

My Toyota Corolla is 13+ years old, with 180 thousand miles on it, and still running with little trouble. The frame is still solid, the drive train has no issues, and the engine sounds great. While there is a certain degree of body deterioration, it is remarkably little, considering the fact that I live in a northern state where there is significant snow and ice during the winter. I do not get my car washed, so the road salt can have a deleterious effect.
Story
I used this vehicle to take my wife out on our first date. We went to the drive-in and watched a double feature. It wasn't until I was dropping her off at home that she turned to me and asked, "Was this a date?"
Pros
I love the fact that the car has a manual transmission, which provides for statistically safer driving. After 13 years on the road, the vehicle still gets decent mileage, about 25-30 miles per gallon, depending on usage. After this long, the vehicle still requires remarkably little maintenance; in fact, during the last five years, the only necessary maintenance needed beyond the routine, was a factory recall and thus free.
Cons
The main negative aspects of this car are mostly linked to class. It's a sedan, so available space is not what could be available from a larger class of vehicle. Leg space, especially in the rear seats, can be a little tight making it uncomfortable for long drives. While the radio still works exceptionally, the dashboard clock display no longer functions, which can be annoying.
