Overall, I have been disappointed with this car. I previously owned a 2001 Toyota Corolla and loved it. I feel like Toyota has really done a hatchet job on these cars. The interior especially. While the interior on the 2001 Corolla was well appointed, the interior on this one seems really cheap. It just feels like they have sacrificed quality since so many people buy these cars now.
Story
Best memory I have of this vehicle is driving to Memphis with a couple of friends. Such a small car and we had four guys and all of our stuff crammed into it.
Pros
The car holds up really well and maintenance costs are minimal. The vehicle has held its value nicely as well. The car runs quietly and turns on every time you insert the key. You can't go wrong with any of the Toyota family when it comes to dependability. Minimal costs and minimal worries.
Cons
The quality of these cars has gone downhill. The interior feels cheap. Additionally, the car accelerates very choppy. The previous Corolla that I had drove much smoother. Just feels like they attempted to save every penny on this car.

2011 Toyota Corolla - I love my reliable, sensible, boring car

I purchased my Corolla in 2011. Its a slate grey color, which is very pretty. The Corolla is a sensible subcompact family sedan. There is nothing about this car that will get people to look twice and whistle, but it's perfect if you're looking for a sensible, reliable car that you don't have to pump a lot of money into over the life of the car. In over 125,000 miles, I have had to do nothing to this car beyond new brakes, tires and oil changes in the seven years I've owned it.
Story
We took this car about 120 miles to an NFL football game, and because it was compact, we were able to find an awesome parking spot that would definitely not have worked if we were in my boyfriend's Chrysler 300!
Pros
This car is unexpectedly a little bit zippy. I often find myself speeding. It has a bit of get up and go that I didn't think a tiny Corolla would have. Standard features include power windows and cruise control, which are pretty much expected of all vehicles made in the last 20 years. I love the ease of steering and parking with this vehicle. The size and zip of the car as well as super responsive steering have allowed me to avoid many near collisions that have crossed my path. Additionally, this is a little car that can take a beating! I was rear ended at about 40 miles per hour on the fr... (more)
Cons
There are few things I don't like about this vehicle. Mainly lack of luxury features such as in dash navigation, but that's to be expected for a car of this class. Other than that, my biggest complaint is the size of the vehicle. I've had taller men that have had issues entering and exiting the car. With back problems, it can be super painful to get in and out of the vehicle. Elderly relatives have had a doozy of a time trying to exit the vehicle. Additionally, the seats themselves are noticeably smaller than in some other cars. If someone is large or has wide hips, they may not be very co... (more)
