I purchased this vehicle to be a commuter car. So far, it has lived up to exactly what I was looking for. I got the more expensive package, but when you are in your car for two-plus hours a day, you want a little luxury to make it better for yourself. I have put a lot of miles on it in a short amount of time, but my car has lived up to everything I wanted, and it has not really begun to show signs of the wear and tear. The only thing I dislike about it is that it is an automatic transmission car. My last car was a manual transmission, and I made the choice to switch to automatic because of traffic. I do miss my manual though. It has performed beautifully! I routinely get the oil changed and take care of it, so it is doing what it needs to do.
Story
Taking a road trip to Arizona with one of my friends for Spring Training. We left the Bay Area around 11:00 at night, and we were supposed to take turns driving, but my friend passed out about an hour into the drive and didn't wake up. I was stuck driving the whole time! We laughed and joked about it when we made it safely to Arizona.
Pros
I got the upgrade package which includes navigation and Sirius which I love. I am terrible with directions, so the navigation system has been amazing. Heated seats, moon roof, Bluetooth, and leather seats -- it is all wonderful. Also, the fuel economy is really good, and I like that I get upwards of 30 mpg.
Cons
Honestly, the only negative I could come up with is that it is an automatic car. That really has nothing to do with this car, but transitioning from manual to automatic has been strange.

With a Toyota Corolla you cannot go wrong. It is great with gas mileage, great for work commutes and taking kids to and from their activities. It will keep gas spending to a minimum. I only have two kids, but I can see this not being a great car for people with three children that are all in car seats. I do appreciate the trunk space of the Corolla. Toyota cars do have great trunk space, and we had a double stroller for the longest time that would fit in the trunk with no issue, and it was a bulky stroller. This car is not flashy so not a lot of bells and whistles on the inside, but if you drive many miles during the week, it would be an excellent car choice. I almost have 200K miles on the Corolla, and it is still running very well with nothing more than maintenance issues over... (more)
Story
It has been fun for weekend road trips up to the mountains. That is our favorite memory in the car. Going to the mountains to get to the lake.
Pros
Great gas mileage, compact car good for parking, and runs well even when mileage is getting high.
Cons
Limited space if you want more than two kids. Only really holds two car seats well.
