2005 Toyota Prius - Everyone should get a Prius
When I purchased this vehicle, I was originally planning on getting a different car that didn't end up working out. When I found out the dealership had a Prius in my price range, I was ecstatic. My sister had a Prius, so I knew I liked the look, and I loved the gas mileage situation! When I use it to drive around town I hardly ever have to fill up my gas tank, and when I do, it's so much cheaper than what my husband's car takes. And when we travel to visit my parents (a 12-hour drive), we only have to stop two, maybe three times, and save so much money.
Story
I used to work at a coffee shop in town that opened a coffee truck, and for the soft opening, we were supposed to go around and around through the drive through to help them train. We ended up leaving with so many drinks, and there definitely weren't enough cup holders for all the drinks, but the experience made me realize how many cup holders there were (way more than you'd expect).
Pros
The gas mileage is seriously the best. I hate getting gas so much, and I honestly hardly ever have to do it. It's a huge money saver. Whenever I travel with my friends, I always offer to drive since my car saves so much on gas! Plus I love driving it. And for a little car, it actually has quite a bit of space! Front or back seat, there's plenty of foot room, and the seats are comfortable. The back seats go down to lay completely flat with the trunk, which is super beneficial if you have longer objects you need to fit in your trunk. Another huge plus is that the back windows go down almost ... (more)
Cons
The one qualm I have with this car is the touchscreen. Thankfully, I haven't had any wiring issues, but I'm a little scared that it'll happen one day and it'll probably cost me a bit. Basically all the controls are on the touchscreen so if I need to change the music, adjust the temperature or where the air/heat is coming out, I have to deal with the touchscreen in the middle of the dash, which is kind of had to see depending on the light. And then if you're traveling in the night, it can be too bright. You can adjust the brightness, but I'm not about to do that every time I get in the car.... (more)
2010 Toyota Prius - It is a good car that gets great gas mileage making a low cost of ownership.
This has been a great car, it is comfortable, is not costly to maintain and has the kind of power you don't expect to get in a hybrid. The only problem is that there are air foil guards on the bottom that fall off.
Story
When it got stuck in the snow and a neighbor came down to help push but when I stepped on the accelerator the tires just moved slowly. He didn't think I was really pressing down.
Pros
High gas mileage
low maintenance cost
less time spent getting maintenance done
it is comfortable
it has the power to move quickly if needed
There is enough room for taller people
Plenty of storage
nice aesthetics
if has all the necessary safety features
only have to change the oil every 10000 miles
smooth ride
I like how it tells me real time gas mileage
Cons
Plastic air foil guards on the bottom of the car fell off
Plastic around the front tire fell off
It isn't a car you can maintain yourself
The tires don't spin in the snow so you can't get unstuck
it has one of those rinky dink spare tires
it is a little tough getting used to the gas engine shutting down at stop signs

2005 Toyota Corolla - Toyota Of Des Moines
I got an amazing car for a low price due to hail damage. I've had this car for 2 years now and there have been no problems. Although it was difficult to register in LA with a salvage title, I haven't had a problem with it since. With regular maintenance, it has proved a very faithful car. I've driven it from New Orleans, back home to Des Moines several times for holidays and have never had a breakdown.
2013 Toyota RAV4 -
The let us take the vehicle home for a few hours to test it out and to see if we liked the way the car seats fit in it. They also had a room for children to play in while we waited and provided snacks.
