My '99 Toyota Sienna has been extremely dependable. At 20 years of age, I still drive it cross country without hesitation. Other than normal wear and tear, I've never had any significant issues since buying it five years ago. What little maintenance is required is inexpensive, and the parts are easy to find. Being a minivan, it has lots of space inside, but it drives just like a car and far superior to most SUVs. It may not be sexy, but it does the job, and I don't have to make car payments! The acceleration leaves a lot to be desired, but not many people buy minivans for speed and power, so that isn't a big issue for me. One other minor complaint, however, is the door handles, and I mean all of them, interior and exterior, are either manufactured with brittle plastic or have design fl... (more)
Story
I slept in it one time in the mountains, and it could've been worse. The front seats naturally do not lean all the way back, and the middle row of seats don't either, but we survived without too many longterm aches.
Pros
Reliable and inexpensive to own.
Cons
The door handles break constantly.

I love my Sienna! I am a mother of four rough and tumble boys. We run around all year to soccer, water polo, and every sport in between. It gets very very dirty, but cleans up nicely every Thursday, when I take it to the car wash. The best part is that we have put over 140000 miles on our van and haven't had to do anything but regular scheduled maintenance. We have driven it cross country several times. I am always confident when leaving the state that I'll be safe from break downs. The driver's seat is very comfortable and adjustable. It's comfortable and easy to maneuver. The turning radius is great. It's easy to park and get where I need to go. It is also surprisingly fast. A lot of other vans feel like they are struggling to get up to speed when you enter the freeway. My van doesn'... (more)
Story
We moved from Florida to New Mexico this year. We spent two weeks driving cross country with our family of six. Our boys watched movies and played on iPads and Kindles. They were able to charge their devices using the outlets behind the back row. The outlets were so useful for a long trip. Also, all of the seats can recline independently of the other seats. The kids could lie back and take a n... (more)
Pros
I love that the back seats can fold down flat and the middle seats can come out. We have used the van to transport furniture and other large items. It is a very versatile vehicle. I also love that the air conditioning has separate controls for the front and rear. My husband and I like the temperature a little cooler than our kids. With separate controls, everyone is comfortable and happy. It also gets pretty good gas mileage. We get around 22 mpg freeway, and about 19 in the city.
Cons
I wish that I had bought the towing package. It would be very handy. Also, the dash had deteriorated somewhat. It has a tacky feeling to it. But, that's been recalled. Once we get our ducks in order, we'll have that replaced, free of charge.

I wouldn't necessarily call it "the best", but they were good overall. The salesman I dealt with wasn't pushy or over-talkative. He just let me drive the car, and he answered questions when I had them. That was nice because it felt more like I was buying the car rather than him trying to sell it. The purchase process was quick and low pressure, though the extra dealership fee ($700) was a bit high - that ought to be worked into the price of the car rather than slapping it on after.
