Great car built to last
I have owned this car for over a decade and taken it all over the country. It is a great starter car for a college student or someone who does a lot of driving. The car gets great gas mileage, averaging about 40 mph (highway) and 32 mph (city streets). With proper maintenance, I have put over 120,000 miles on the vehicle, and it is still going strong. One of the things I like best about the car is that I can fit two large dogs (75-100 lbs.) in the back when the seats are folded down. The car has a very streamline design and many compartments to store a variety of items. One of the only cons of the vehicle is that it is a compact car, so if you have long legs, it will be a tight squeeze. I do have some issues with the clear coat coming off of the roof of the vehicle, which through forums I have learned is a common problem with the 2007 and 2008 year of the car. I would definitely recommend this car to anyone who wants to get a great economy-sized vehicle for a low price that will last them for many, many years.

Underwhelming, at least it works
I like the Yaris' exterior styling. It's a small car, but there's plenty of room on the interior and adequate trunk space. The inside is rather disappointing, however. The speedometer and odometer are on the center of the dash and I don't even see a temperature gauge! How will I know if my engine is starting to overheat? It doesn't have very many storage compartments and the center console isn't very spacious. The cupholders are also awkwardly placed. The front cupholders are located on the left and right corners of the dashboard. There are also vaguely cup-shaped spaces in the door pockets, but I would put anything in there that I was worried would tip over. It doesn't accelerate quite as well as my previous car (a Honda Civic) did and I have a difficult time driving straight on windy days, but it's comfortable, gets good gas mileage, has an excellent turning radius, and there isn't a great deal of noise when I drive at high speeds. I wish the sound quality of the stereo was better, but all in all, it's a good little car.
