Used Volkswagen Jetta for Sale in Newark, NJ

I had a blue 2001 Jetta. I bought this vehicle used and worked fine. It was fun while it lasted. I bought it from the first owner. It was a car that handled extremely well on the highway and through the city. May have been one of the best cars on gas that I ever had. I was very reliable in all seasons. The only drawback while it was in working order was the size, me being 6'6" long trips seemed almost impossible. For short errands and local commuting, this car was IT. After a year or 2, everything when haywire. The vehicle started out overheating and the engine failed, I needed new head gaskets and a whole host of problems that made it very expensive to save it. If it didn't perform so well I would have never spent over $3,000 to get it functioning properly. All in all I sold it for $5,000 so at the very least I could say it was a good investment, cause the resale value on a good working machine like the Jetta is top dollar.

I purchased this vehicle when it was eight years old with 90,000 miles on it. I knew the previous owner, so I knew it was well taken care of. She did make me aware of some electrical issues with the car that she had, and I've continued to have issues as well. When she owned the car, the radio stopped working. The dealership couldn't figure out what was wrong with it - they looked at fuses, wiring, the radio itself and couldn't fix it. Ultimately, she replaced the radio, wiring and fuses. Now that I have it, the cruise control doesn't work. It's been to the dealer twice, and no one can seem to figure out why. Also, the break wear warning light is always on, either after the breaks are replaced. The car also burns through oil like crazy. I rarely, if ever, had to put oil in any of my other cars between oil changes. The car works for me now - but with my experiences with it, I wouldn't purchase another one.
