From the day I bought my 2013 Passat SEL TDI new in June 2013 until September 2015 I thought it was a great car. It outperformed the MPG estimates and was a comfortable car that was large enough for my family. Then the news of the VW diesel scandal hit the papers. The Passat had an effective air conditioner and heater in the car that heated and cooled the car in a timely manner. In addition, I enjoyed the music set-up in the car that enabled a lot of customizability for the user of the built-in car speakers. The Bluetooth functionality of the car was fluid for both calls and streaming of music. I would also like to add that, in my opinion, the car is also quite visually appealing. The fuel efficiency of the car was better on local roads then on highways. The automatic seat adjustment buttons available in the front seats were an easily accessible and useful addition to the seat, in addition to the seat warmers.
