Pretty decent car.
I honestly like the Volkswagen New Beetle. So far it has been a pretty decent car. It gets me from point A to point B. Like any car it has it's problems but I wouldn't consider it to be anything too major. I wouldn't completely be against purchasing another beetle. And I have recommended it to some people that have mentioned that they wanted to purchase one in the future. I just wish I had purchased it new instead of used.

Great first car.
This car is a fantastic choice for someone looking to purchase their first car. I've been driving this car for more than 100,000 over five years and have had very few problems with the mechanics. For someone learning how to drive or new to driving, the steering and handling are very tight, making it easy to turn the car in a small radius or navigate into tight spaces. My Beetle has been very reliable; in five years I've replaced just the convertible top (which needs to be replaced in Florida about every four years due to the heat), the break booster, and a handful of window chains. Other than that, my beetle simply requires regular oil changes to run smoothly. I do wish the car had better fuel economy, but a tank can last me about a week driving all around the central Florida area for work. I absolutely love how "cute" the car looks, and I get compliments on it all the time. The interior is small, but it easily fits the four medium-sized suitcases that I take with me when traveling for work. Plus, the fact that it is a convertible is perfect for the true Florida lifestyle - as is the Air Conditioner that runs all year long and has not need to be tuned in five years. All interior materials have held up well, even in the heat, and I have had no issues with any electronics in the car, save for the automatic window chains and motors which I've had to replace about three times. All in all, this was the best possible car I could purchase for my first car, and I am very pleased with how well it has held up.
