Knoxville, TN Driving Tips
Be prepared for construction and/or potholes on the interstate. I believe the city does it's best to keep the roads maintained but they are a major source of aggravation.
Knoxville, TN Buying Tips
The best place to go, at least to "window shop" cars would be either Parkside Drive in W. Knoxville or the "Airport Motor Mile" close to McGee Tyson Airport. Both areas are Long thorough-fairs lined with auto dealerships, most willing to compete with each other if you let them know you are looking for cars at one of the other dealerships. There are tons of options to choose from as far as manufacturer so you can definitely find a car you want.
Favorite driving memory
My favorite memory driving in Knoxville would have to be driving out of the city towards Sevierville in the fall. It is such a beautiful time of year in East TN. The interstates and greenways are lined with huge old trees that change beautifully in the autumn, you can see the Smokey Mountains in the distance, it really is a wonderful drive on the weekends in the mornings. As a college student I remember some of my best times would include my friends and I packing up the car to go to Cades Cove for a picnic and some hiking. It always made me happy to hit the road out of downtown Knoxville and watch the scenic views as we were driving.
Favorite road
Rifle Range Rd. It is an older road filled with hills and curves and covered by a beautiful canopy of trees. In the summer it is cool and you can ride with the windows down. In the Autumn the leaves are beautiful. It's a long hardly uninterrupted road, and is fun to drive.

Knoxville, TN Driving Tips
The one tip that I would give other drivers is to learn some back roads. Traffic is horrible on the interstate and the roads are really rough. Learning the backroads provides alternate and scenic routes to one's destination. I have found that treasures are found when you take the road less traveled.
Knoxville, TN Buying Tips
I would look for a car that is good on gas mileage, my car is good on gas mileage but it runs hot sometimes while idling and this occurs during rush hour traffic. Kingston Pike has tons of car lots on that strip. I know that there are at least 10 to 20 on that main strip. I would try Auto List King and Craigslist, but if you hit Kingston Pike they have car lots that range from new to used, finance and buy here pay here.
Favorite driving memory
One of my favorite memories driving in Knoxville, TN is the lights at night. All that beauty provides for an easy and relaxing drive, bring comfort and peace. One spot in particular comes to mind the World's Fair Ball, it always brings me memories of younger days.
Favorite road
Middlebrooks Pike.. Middlebrooks Pike is a long straight road. It has gorgeous houses on either side and there are many different establishments there that you can stop at. There are several restaurants, several parks and several businesses that make this road interesting as well as useful. I begin to see the usefulness of this road when I obtain one of my jobs there.
