Knoxville, TN Driving Tips
Be prepared for construction and/or potholes on the interstate. I believe the city does it's best to keep the roads maintained but they are a major source of aggravation.
Knoxville, TN Buying Tips
The best place to go, at least to "window shop" cars would be either Parkside Drive in W. Knoxville or the "Airport Motor Mile" close to McGee Tyson Airport. Both areas are Long thorough-fairs lined with auto dealerships, most willing to compete with each other if you let them know you are looking f ... (more)
Favorite Driving Memory
My favorite memory driving in Knoxville would have to be driving out of the city towards Sevierville in the fall. It is such a beautiful time of year in East TN. The interstates and greenways are lined with huge old trees that change beautifully in the autumn, you can see the Smokey Mountains in the ... (more)
Favorite Road
Rifle Range Rd - It is an older road filled with hills and curves and covered by a beautiful canopy of trees. In the summer it is cool and you can ride with the windows down. In the Autumn the leaves are beautiful. It's a long hardly uninterrupted road, and is fun to drive.

Knoxville, TN Driving Tips
The one tip that I would give other drivers is to learn some back roads. Traffic is horrible on the interstate and the roads are really rough. Learning the backroads provides alternate and scenic routes to one's destination. I have found that treasures are found when you take the road less traveled.
Knoxville, TN Buying Tips
I would look for a car that is good on gas mileage, my car is good on gas mileage but it runs hot sometimes while idling and this occurs during rush hour traffic. Kingston Pike has tons of car lots on that strip. I know that there are at least 10 to 20 on that main strip. I would try Auto List King ... (more)
Favorite Driving Memory
One of my favorite memories driving in Knoxville, TN is the lights at night. All that beauty provides for an easy and relaxing drive, bring comfort and peace. One spot in particular comes to mind the World's Fair Ball, it always brings me memories of younger days.
Favorite Road
Middlebrooks Pike. - Middlebrooks Pike is a long straight road. It has gorgeous houses on either side and there are many different establishments there that you can stop at. There are several restaurants, several parks and several businesses that make this road interesting as well as useful. I begin to see the usefulnes ... (more)

Knoxville, TN Driving Tips
Please be cautious before and after UT football games. Also, I've noticed a lot of texting and distracted driving. So I guess the one tip would be "be alert" of all aspects of the environment Knoxville traffic can throw at you. Tdot websites and phone number provide decent feedback to travelers and ... (more)
Knoxville, TN Buying Tips
I would beware of AutoList sites and buy here pay here places. Just up the interstate is the airport motor mile in alcoa. Then there are also some good dealerships off cedar bluff and walker springs exits. Then the turkey creek area has a carmax if a good used car is what a person is looking for.
Favorite Driving Memory
My favorite memory was going around the back roads everywhere on my first date with my now wife. We had no plan on what to do. But we ended up going on the east side of Knoxville back to the west side. I never took those roads before and they took us on what was a wonder night.
Favorite Road
Parkside drive - It virtually has everything up and down that road. There's shopping, restaurants, and all the above. There are a lot of outlet roads to get to and from that road as well.
