I purchased the vehicle about a year ago and so far it's been in the garage numerous times for maintenance. Fortunately, I have family who can fix the Blazer because it's an older model. There's no computers to have to worry like in new cars. The maintenance was fairly inexpensive. I liked the look of the car (with the exception of it only having 2 doors). However, for a couple hundred dollars and in a need of transportation, it serves its purpose. The vehicle handles nice and is a comfortable drive. Unless you are sitting in the backseat. It's difficult for passengers to climb in and out of the backseat. As far as the gas mileage, it's affordable for an SUV. I feel safe and in control while driving it except for when it needs maintenance.
Story
I have no fun or memorable stories with this vehicle. Its primary function is to get me to work and home.
Pros
Handling Gas Mileage Fair Purchase Price 4WD Inexpensive Repairs
Cons
Two Door Vehicle No Space for Passengers / Cargo Monthly Maintenance

The 1997 Chevrolet Blazer is a vehicle that has proven to be a quality SUV even after 20 years of daily driving! Performance has been top notch, accelerates well for an SUV and handles well in the snow. I have never had an issue with the vehicle. Far surpassed my expectations!
Story
One fun memory I had was driving over a big snow hill last winter. The Blazer is a great snow vehicle and can plow through snow banks.
Pros
My favorite thing about this vehicle is most definitely the spacious interior and fold-down back seats. The blazer was perfect for moving into my new house and being able to load up the back with boxes. A few short trips, and I was set! The next thing I love about the car is how well it handles in the snow. I have never worried about tipping the car or getting stuck. The four-wheel drive has always gotten me out of tough situations. It is a solid-built car, and even for 20 years old, I never worry about getting stranded. It also has very good acceleration for an SUV! I never have a problem... (more)
Cons
The only con I can possibly think of is it is a little bit of a gas guzzler. But that is to be expected with any SUV especially one that was made in 1997. Also if you are using the A/C or heat, you can guarantee to use up a lot more gas that way.

The dealership was extremely helpful with dealing with our complicated situation involving trading in two cars, both purchased prior to me and my wife's marriage. They were clear and were not condescending when explaining the paperwork. When the battery in the Equinox was dead prior to us leaving the dealership they replaced it for free.
