I do not recommend the Chevy Cobalt, especially if it was built between 2006 and 2010. The car was built so poorly and has had almost a dozen recalls for various parts. The most notable recall was for the ignition switch to solve the problem of the car turning off while in drive. Despite routine maintenance, the car consistently does not perform well. The sleek looks and stylish interior do not make up for the poor construction.
Story
I remember the first time driving the car in the summer. The sunroof was open and the speakers were blaring, and my friends and I were having a good time listening to music and enjoying the summer breeze.
Pros
I like the aesthetic features of the car. The car is sleek and small but has enough trunk space to carry a whole drum set when it is broken down.
Cons
The quality of parts used to construct the vehicle where not high quality and will need replaced sooner than expected.

My Cobalt has been reliable since day one. I got it on a used car lot for about $10,000 in 2011. It had a few thousand miles on it. Almost perfect shape. I was 19 years old when I got that car. I still—to this day—use my Cobalt as my primary method of getting around town. It runs fantastically, the maintenance cost has been very low, and I spend no more than $30 on gas a week. It is a little bit small, but it is cozy not cramped. There is space where you want it and not where its unnecessary. It handles great, and it turns on a dime. I have never had problems with any of the automated features like the windows, headlights, and stock radio. The Cobalt is great if you have no need to haul things around town. It's got a smaller trunk, so you can't transport a lot of people and still have... (more)
Story
I was able to avoid two accidents at the same time in this car in the snow. The other cars were out of control, but my Cobalt stayed in control and had traction. Saved me a lot of trouble that day.
Pros
Low maintenance costs. Cost effective. Great handling. MPG is amazing. Comfortable driving. Great stock stereo. Adjustable interior space. Compact for parking.
Cons
No dome light. Limited trunk space. Not made to haul a lot of weight. Not made to go off road.
